PW is a converted southpaw. It is why he does not look like a natural southpaw at times. This was exploited by Quintana who boxed southpaw all of his life and why he landed hard shots on PW. PW has a chin period. Pw has been boxing southpaw for so long now that he is used to it, and he can only get better each year. PW might have trouble with other southpaws in the future(maybe), but in his fight with Pav, I see the SP style as an advantage.

Pav is well schooled, so PW will have to jab, turn the man, throw hard, and spin...and stay away from the right hand. This is a tough fight for both men, but I see PW winning a UD. From round 1-12... PW will be in danger though.

That fight was hard to score. Mainly because Taylor was doing a good job of throwing really nice, accurate combinations throughout much of the fight, but Pavlik looked like the man in charge most of the time. Both did different things really well. I scored it 3 times, and came up with the same 3 DIFFERENT scores as the judges.

Lockets a bum so anyone whether a PW fan or Pav fan please...leave him out of this discussion lol...Landing left hooks on Rubio and Miranda is nothing since my son could do the same thing. Pav's jab is very underrated. He throws a sloppy left hook that has no power. Pav is simply Mr. left-right with a jab. Pav is a capable body puncher too. Pav takes a good shot, but he can be wobbled and hurt.

    ok... you think that.......

me and the majority of boxing fans will roll with the 1-1-2/1-2 with consistency theory.... more people seem to agree with me...

1 or 2 body punches against a guy who is in defensive position doesnt mean murderous body puncher

cotto throwing body hooks in exchanges throughout the fight is body punching
paul williams against verno phillips is body punching
margarito vs cintron is body punching....

pavlik does not go to the body how you like to advertise

I wonder if you realize that the misconception that Pavlik is a robot who just throws a 1-2 is Kelly's single greatest advantage in most fights. I'm really getting sick of people who claim to know something about boxing telling me I'm wrong about things I've seen with my own two eyes. Watch the ****ing fights, and stop buying into internet mythology.

    Over statement of the day.

The beast Mugabi he is not. I'm sure Pav can throw a mean body shot but that is not his style at this level of comp.

I seen him hurt JT with a body shot late in the fight. Still don't make him Cotto.

Makes want to look at it again. Maybe we were getting a bit too much excited after Kelly's first win.

you act as if its a bad thing.... he ****ing went 34-0 doing what he has done... its not a bad thing he is ****ing consistent as **** and just batters you until you are done.... i dont know why you take offense to it

i want you and everyone else to answer this question:

to be considered something.... you must do what you are considered consistently..so answer me this please..... does kelly pavlik in a 12 round fight... in his last 5 fights go to the body consistently?

not 10-20 times in a whole fight.... but does he put in consistent body work over the whole course of the fight?

    answer that question now please...

I think "vicious body puncher" is ok. Not meaning it's is primary weapon or specialty...

He doesn't consistantly go to the body. But what he does do works for him. All these threads and long ass post. I'm going to die when Pav hits PW with a big right hand that he probably can't handle.

    exactly

can he punch to the body?

    yes.... definitely

can he hurt you to the body?

    yes... definitely

is he a consistent body puncher?

    **** NO...

is he a murderous body puncher?

if your definition is by one punch... yes
if your definition is over the course of a fight... **** no

to call pavlik a murderous body puncher would be like calling shane mosley a 1 punch knock out artist or something

but like who is zertuche? i am not trying to disrespect pavlik one bit when i say he is one dimensional but he really is.... asking me to watch kelly pavlik batter zertuche would be like me telling someone to watch floyd mayweather beat up arturo gatti and suggest to them that floyd mayweather is some type of offensive juggernaut

pavlik looked like a beast against zertuche becuase zertuche was a clown.... i like to talk about kp's last 5 fights because thats what he is doing now.... not only is the zertuche fight old but he is low level in terms of boxing.... he wont be doing all that stuff against paul and if he did i would be highly surprised....

edit: im glad you comented casue of all the people posting about pw vs pavlik your one of my favorites at the moment.... but you gotta admit... IN KELLY's LAST FIVE FIGHTS he is very limited in terms of what he does... but he still has a high success rate... so its really irrelevant as far as if its a bad thing or not... like the old saying goes... if it aint broke dont try to fix it
