Bud Crawford. Sometimes he gets tagged while throwing punches. He takes too many chances when he thinks a guy might be hurt. Leaves himself open because his hands are down trying to load up with big shots. Eventually he solves you, but that is his vulnerability.

My favorite fighter all time is joe Frazier, I think that his biggest short coming though as a fighter was that he was one dimensional and didn' have much of a right hand, his footwork wasn' great either, and although he had more punch resisance than most he didn't have an iron chin like ali or foreman
Fernando Vargas : Lack of Discipline. Ricardo Mayorga : Lack of IQ and Discipline Matthysse : Cant really think of one other than just being generally overrated (nothing wrong with that though, most punchers are) Ouma : Lack of IQ (or perhaps just battling understandably strong 'demons' that interrupt what would be a good IQ, idk) Mayweather : Lacks the confidence, strength, security and honesty to handle criticism fairly and allows for a person to be rather shameless. This matters because I believe it was this attitude that lead to a few top fights not happening at the time they should have and May being totally ok with it. Golovkin : Says the money doesnt matter, yet allowed money to postpone legacy defining fights. Talks crap about Canelo vs Chavez, but he himself wanted to fight Chavez. Talked crap about Canelo Khan, but fought Brook (yes I do rate the Brook fight above the Khan fight, I feel my point still stands though), when he fights overmatched guys hes more than happy to mock them and say 'you want big drama show you call me' ect, ect, ect... but when he actually fights a legit opponent (jacobs) and he fights reserved he says 'come on, max... I am boxer, not a killer'. Just seems to me like somewhat of a bully mentality (not saying thats absolutely the case just that it seems somewhat like it) Generally overrated. Micky Ward : Cant really think of one other than the obvious. (obvious physical limitations) Pac : Not knowing when to hang em up. Not having the focus to zone in just on boxing... always juggling outside realms, probably to the detrement of his in ring performances to some extent. Martinez : Probably signed to fight Cotto knowing how bad of shape his knees were. In that sense, I feel he kinda sold himself there in an undignified way, however, with the mind and heart of a champion like Martinez he might have truly felt he could win even with bad knees, and nobody who hasnt walked in those shoes can really criticize waiting your whole life for the chance to finally fight a megastar like Cotto, not just for the money but also to truly test yourself against the top of your generation as a fierce competitor, and not getting it until you are finished, and the desire to fight on anyways being too great to resist. I like to believe that over Martinez just showing up for a paycheck. Hopkins : Petty. Resorted to bizarre, undignified and sometimes embarrassing and cringe-worthy tactics. Ward : Victim complex. And while I admit he is a dirty fighter, it doesnt bug me as bad as it probably should. But yes he sometimes would be a dirty fighter. Wants to build his identity as a pillar of Christianity, yet hired a thug like James Prince. Hired known PED farmer as part of his team which rightfully invites suspicion. Wlad : Not as good as is made out. Clinched wayyyyy too much. His boxing IQ not as high as is made out. Fought way too scared for a man of his size, skills and talent. Sometimes fought so scared it almost seemed like some sort of high level athlete anxiety. Morales : Cant really think of one off the top of my head. Maybe could get too emotional in a fight.... but by god, was it beautiful when he did. Kirkland : Severe, severe lack of IQ. Spence : Simply isnt as good as is being made out. Maybe I should erase this response as all fighters get overhyped to a certain extent and its just who you choose to listen to.... but what I mean is I believe right now the general consensus in boxing is rating Spence higher than he actually is. (That being said, I do rate him highly at 147 and think he beats the current crop of quality welters) Ruslan : Cant really think of any outside the obvious (obvious physical limitations) Bradley : Would be too willing to throw his skills out the window for a dogfight. Would have liked for him to buy his contract out to fight non top rank fighters. Adamek : Cant really think of one off the top of my head. I think Adamek doesnt get enough respect and recognition. Judah : Lack of IQ. Paul Williams : Lack of IQ Joshua : Waaaay too big. Needs to improve his stamina, fluidity, and lose some size. Haye : Outside a fragile body I cant think of one off the top of my head. Yes I know that sounds crazy... idk. Maybe just learn when to exit this stage and enter the next chapter of life and just retire. Wilder : Lack of technique. Im leaving out dozens of favorites (froch, rigo, loma, salido, ect, ect) but its already too long lol
That comment is very British We Brits love to slate of champions . Frank Bruno is our most loved and reconised fighter in history. Yes big Frank won the title but he was loved even more for being a have a go hero and losing to Mike Tyson after flooring him Anthony Joshua Watford England They dont come more British that that ! me Donatay Wilder Too American for me He is a typical yank mouth ,mouth , mouth and when he retires he will become fat and really fit the bill
really good thread! Floyd - for calling himself TBE and then posting on facebook (re-pacquiao) : "why do I have to fight the midget?" i'd like to throw down a challenge to paranoid android (pacman), MVC (Floyd) and especially bailey (Calzaghe) to OBJECTIVELY and without playing any angles (yes bailey, that means you!) respond to this thread
Pacquiao - he lacked some fundamentals Tyson Fury - he eats too much Calzaghe - never had proper punch technique David Price - his head is genuinely small Amir Khan - has the IQ of a slice of toast Dustin Nichols - too in love with his slick boxing, never put enough behind his shots Golovkin - needs to actually stop the other person punching him
GGG- willing to fight Chavez Jr at SMW but not Ward. Lomachenko- can't find criticism. Too early still in his career. Hasn't really ducked anyone in his own division. Sergio Martinez- didn't want to fight GGG. Was looking for retirement money. Fought Cotto knowing full well he was hurt and cheated everyone of a good fight. Spence- Same as Lomachenko for now.
