Wilder-- Got dropped heavily by a Nichols jab, crashing against the ropes and down. Showed courage though

Nichols-- Let Wilder off the hook, and hasn't been active enough; besides his robust eating habits

    Good thread.

My favourite boxer is Joesph Parker. My criticism of him is not so much his last 3 fights, but more so his lack of development in the boxing skills department. Maybe the two together (i.e last 3 fights and lack of development) are the contributing factors to lacklustre performances.

Before the Hughie fight, Team Parker and we knew from his past fights, that Hughie would move his feet a lot. Come fight night, it was like Joe didnt know how to deal with what we expected from Hughie. Joe clearly had not learnt to cut off the ring.

Theres a few other things Ill end my post here.

    Here's my list:

Lomachenko - I don't like the showboating, especially against an overmatched opponent.

Golovkin - he's trying to maximize $$$ (and doing quite well at that) but let's not pretend it was ever all about the belts, he always wanted the mega-fights more than the fourth belt. Also having a good chin doesn't make it preferable to walk through punches instead of avoiding them.

Parker - hasn't developed enough in the last two years, needs to leave Barry IMHO. Some of his trash-talking leading up to the Joshua fight was out of character.

Junior Fa - needs to stay disciplined and keep his weight under control between fights. Admittedly he seems to have turned this around in the last year or so.

Spence Jr - needs to get a real promoter.

Thurman - doesn't seem that keen to fight Crawford or Spence. I'm not saying he's ducking, but I would like to see more desire.

Usyk - I honestly can't find much to criticize here. Not that heavy a puncher, but that's not his fault.

Gvozdyk - not much to criticize, but looks uncomfortable when his opponent is throwing heavy punches.

Wladimir Klitschko - far too many boring fights, clinched too much.

Vitali Klitschko - I honestly can't find much to criticize here. Not quite as good technically as his brother, but that's not his fault.

Pacquaio - too many excuses after the Floyd fight.

All 3 favorites of mine, and I agree with all 3 comments

I think I can say he does duck Spence, at least for the time being. Hope he takes the fight soon.

So true. Emanuel Steward saved the man's career and thought him the defensive US style, but Wlad took it too far too many times when it was completely unnecessary.

I'd like to add Kovalev for letting himself get boxed in with his HBO contract and not always pushing the action when he could against big name US fighters.

GGG's saving grace is that he would've beat those fighters, your argument is right though totally !

If GGG is your fave fighter you're not being fair if your only criticism of him is that he didn't fight champions when he was mandatory, and you mention nothing of his defensive liabilities in the ring.

    Let's objectively look at GG's step-asides:

In my honest opinion, there's no way Cotto or Martinez would have fought him.

He was right to let Cotto and Canelo fight, because there was no point in trying to block it. He had a contract that stated the winner had to fight him or vacate, and whilst they were both in camp, he added the IBF by beating David Lemieux. That was a sensible move at the time.

He then got taken for a ride by Oscar. Oscar asked if they could fight Khan first before they negotiated to fight GG afterwards. After the Khan fight, Oscar told Loeffler to stand by his phone on the Monday. Then the next thing we heard, he'd negotiated with Frank W to instead fight Liam Smith.

With hindsight you could say K2 were naive. But all things considered, I can't criticise him for taking those step-asides at the time.

Wow, some people have a lot of favorite fighters.

For me it will be Prince Naseem. Lots of reasons to criticize but for me was the lack of fight he showed after his loss, and I suppose the lack of proper preparation for the Barrera fight, but that was part of his nature and what made him great to watch.

Regarding GG, I don't think that he did let money prevent legacy defining fights. Cotto, Martinez and Canelo weren't prepared to fight him.

Regarding fighting Chavez, GG was open to fighting him before Canelo had fought Cotto. The reason he criticised Canelo for taking the fight, was because it was fought at a higher weight than what he supposedly wanted to fight GG at, and he should have been fighting GG instead at that point. So the circumstances were different.

The circumstances were also very different regarding Khan and Brook. Oscar wanted to delay the GG fight for as long as possible, and he wanted an easy fight for a big cheque. Whereas GG only fought Brook, because he was a last minute replacement for Chris Eubank. The contract for Eubank had already been signed. Also, he only agreed to fight Eubank in the first place because Canelo wouldn't fight him. So again, the circumstances were completely different. He was right to criticise Canelo for fighting Khan fight, when they should have been fighting each other instead at that point.

Regarding his 'Big drama show' quotes, yes, I do agree with you there.

Regarding GG, he was open to fighting Chavez before Canelo fought Cotto.

When the Ward rumours surfaced, he was preparing to fight Lemiuex for the IBF, with a contract to fight the winner of Cotto-Canelo.

I'm a huge fan of Andre's. But I don't think a GG fight was ever viable at that point.
