wants Bute after Taylor. If he manages to beat Taylor, a fight with Bute would be a genuine event, you'd have to give Froch a shot if he could prove himself as one of the top dogs in the division by beating Taylor, you'd have to say he vs. Bute would be a close affair.

However, as it stands I think Froch will lose to Taylor, on a PTS, in a close decision that he will put down to the U.S judges, but will probably be his own fault for leaving his chin out too much and not doing what he did towards the end of the Pascal fight and using his boxing skills.

However, Froch needs to win as I can't see Taylor fighting Kessler or Bute.

i only give froch a 20 to 25% chance of beating taylor, so a bute fight a long way off.

but he has always wanted a chance to fight the best fighters in the division, beating taylor would make it come true.

i am not a big carl froch fan...not one of his boosters, as it is. i think his hands are problematically slow when he punches from range and that he keeps his feet spread too wide, squares himself too much when standing his ground against oncoming attacks and makes too tight of a fist while throwing the jab--thus his fist opens upon impact and the sting and weight comes out of the punch. but i also think he's a cracking puncher with a solid enough beard, a big heart, a lot of core strength and the aggressive intensity to keep a certain type of tactical fighter from boxing his ears off and getting away with it over the duration. if taylor plays it smart, keeps the jab in froch's face, beats up his shoulders and arms in the early rounds and starts to find a home for that straight right hand lead as froch wings shots with increasing desperation in the late rounds...taylor can earn a pretty clear decision victory, i think. that said, if pavlik could knock taylor out, froch sure can. if froch catches taylor coming in with one of those big right hooks...that's all she wrote. froch, i'll give him this, is only ever one punch out of a fight. i'll be interested to see if taylor can resist the urge to brawl (his worst move) and froch can resist the urge to get impatient and careless if he finds hiimself behind on the scorecards (his worst move). froch is much fresher than taylor, but is still somewhat untested against world class opposition. this one is tough to call, i think.

if froch gets over on taylor and fights bute, bute will have a bigger speed advantage than taylor did, but a softer chin and a shorter, less accurate jab. if bute boxes froch the way he boxed sakio bika, he has a shot. but i have this pit in my stomach that tells me froch would drop four of five rounds while headhunting and then catch bute and end it. somewhere, i imagine, librado andrade will be thinking, 'take that ya canuck!' ha.

Although I respect Froch for the war he was involved with Pascal, he is not in the same league of Bute. Bute would easily outbox him over 12 rounds and win a lopsided decision. His defense is too poor.

However, I give him a clear shot at beating Taylor. Taylor has not been impressive during his last two bouts. Froch could shake him a lot.

Bute has such a speed advantage on Froch I can't understand how you see him winning. For me, it's like doing Zuniga again. Froch is better, the fight would be much closer but Froch is less active than Zuniga, so Bute could stay easily on the outside, counterpunching all night. Froch is not Andrade, he doesn't put much pressure, so he brings nothing to bug Bute.

Bute not having a very good chin is the most common misconception about him. I guess it stems from people who only watched the last round of his fight against Andrade thinking: "Damn...this guy Bute was getting stunned badly by Andrade...he also went down hard from a punch from Andrade and barely made it up again...I guess this guy's chin is not very good..."

...let's just hope Bute's potential opponents think the same thing about Bute's chin...;)

Yeah...20% is what I started off with too...but now I'm prepared to go up to 30-40% in the ideal case scenario for Froch and the worst case scenario for Taylor...but realistically: 25% tops...for me too.

...the British bookies actually see it as a 50/50 fight...:think

I also agree with sean that there's little point discussing Bute v. Froch until we see Froch against Taylor...but off the bat, I disagree that Froch has no reasonable chance of beating Bute.:good

Froch will KO taylor within 5 rounds.
He has never fought someone who hits has hard.
His american ass will crumble and once again the uk will defeat america.

I'm a big fan of Carl Froch but I think Taylor might have a bit too much for him. If Taylor stays at distance and uses his good jab for 12 rounds Froch will struggle. I don't think Taylor is stupid enough to get involved in a war which, in my opinion, is the only way that Froch can win.

Keep that to yourself. It's comments like that which ruin entire threads.

You can be sympathetic to a fighter like Carl Froch who wants to go into the deep end straight away.

He hasnt got the luxury of making meaningless defences vs Mario Veits and Tucker pudwills of this world.

    Its what you call credibility

You're talking rubbish and I'm a Froch fan :nono There has never been and never will be a boxer who would fight Mario Veits in a meaningless re-match in which the outcome would be almost very similar just to keep a meaningless title such as, for example, the WBO...

Until you can come up with just one fighter who would build his "legend" around such fights you should keep your ill informed opinions to yourself. :hand ;)

Taylor has a chance of beating Froch. Bute has none.

Furthermore, if Froch knocks out Taylor, I doubt very much Bute would take the fight
