Heard his interview on the boxing hour. Clearly he wants the bigger fights. Would like the world title and Magee backed out of purse bids. McDermott isn't great but will keep him busy, make him look good and he can move onto better things next year.
I like Smith alot but Im pissed off with Warren only getting him McDermott, who's not even in the top ten in Britain. There's many other options he could have gave Smith. Why not pop him in with McGuire or Kenny Anderson? Or maybe he could even get him some well known name at world level that's finished. It's not Smith's fault. I imagine he's pissed off with having to fight McDermott. It's almost asthough Warren is holding Smith back until Degale's ready to take the British title from him.
AS Bad Dog has said, a top 10-20 world ranked fighter would be a better option at this point. Lets see what Smith has got at that sort of level.
you cant on itunes. go to bbc i player>radio>local radio>bbc london and its the first one. Smith is about 40 minutes in.....and him slatting me is about 50mins.
