I know the ref gave Bute a lot of time but no time was needed, he just needed to get up, (which he did). If the fight was stopped can you imagine all the post saying Bute was robbed of a victory? There was no time left!
No it's not. 1. Chavez - Taylor 1 the fighter COULD be saved by the bell(in the last round). 2. Chavez - Taylor DID end within the regulation 3 minute rounds 3. Andrade - Bute fight is a blatant robbery since you CANNOT be saved by the bell AND Bute was out. Again you CANNOT be saved by the bell. Why don't you people understand. It's not a hard concept. 4. The ref favored Bute all night (clinches and warning when Bute was hurt) In fact the only thing that is similar is that the fight was decided in the last few seconds of the bout (which is irrelevant).
Bad break, but it happens. I don't buy hometown cookin' Canada isn't Germany and plenty of hometown fighters have lost close fights thanks to referees and judges (look at Sebastian Demers). Andrade once again showed a hell of a lot of grit. Hard to tell how Bute stacks up to Kessler, sure he got knocked down by Andrade, but he also managed to knock Andrade down himself.
All Bute had to do was stand up. Which he did. I was referring to the end of the fight as being similiar
Now here's a question. Andrade had no time to hit Bute again so that rules that possibility out. If the ref knows a fighter cannot be saved by the bell but knows the round is over, does the ref still have the right to wave the fight off or does he just count knowing that the fighter who went down must either get up and the fight goes to the cards or if he doesn't the fight ends in a KO? Now if he has the right to wave the fight off even though the round was over, would this not become a pure judgement call.
That is not true. The fight is not over until the ref declares him fit to continue. In order for the ref to that he must either be incompetent or favoring Bute. This is where the robbery comes in.
Seconds mean nothing, the refs count can be faster than 10 seconds or slower. If you count like a normal ref would he's up before 10.
