Braindead millennials will find that kind of nonsense funny and edgy but there is no talent or wit in asking dumb questions on a professional platform where the participants are expecting to be asked serious questions. We see these kind of pranks all the time in other sports like football here in the UK where a fool will come up with the idea of asking a manager who is prepared for a press conference stupid questions so they can later upload it on social media in order to recieve likes and giggles by those are desperate to be involved with the stunt. These kind of things are neither charming, creative or original but disrespectful, juvenile and dumb.
Well sometimes people need something different and awkward to happen. It can't be all just serious, it helps later when you get the real serious questions. The part that I was laughing was in the end with Ellerbe, cause he realised at the first time that it's all a joke and "tried" to stick with it. The thing with Wilder was disrespectful but he deserves it for talking too much. And yeah you are right, you don't need talent or wit. I am not saying that this guy was brilliant, but why so serious ? Look at Usyk, he knew about the "I am very feel" thing and used it many times on purpose. The same goes with the questions, if I was Ellerbe I would say 500000 times that I am taking the fight and I will make an extra free advertising for myself.
That is the thing, boxers have off the cuff interviews all the time. Ifilm with Kugan Cassius, Michelle Phelps FightHype just to name a few. so it's not as if we do not get the opportunity to see professional Boxers have a laugh at themselves and take part in banter. However when some no talent wannabe prankster pops up to ask dumb questions at a boxing convention where the pros have been prepped to expect serious question, in attempt to be funny, they deserve to be treated with the same contempt, displayed by Wilder. I mean 'Adrian Boner' Come surely this is not the height of comic relief That individual was fortunate not to receive a open hand slap for the steroid questions and refusing to shake Ellerbe's hand at the end. This is what should happen to all smart alec reporters who think they're being funny. This content is protected
