I really miss 15 round fights, but it appears they are gone for good. I'd argue that title unification matches should be 15 rounds, with a safety rule that it's a TKO if one fighter is down 5 rounds or more to prevent beatings, but its preaching to the choir.

Suppose there was a 12 round limit after 1930. Which famous fights would have had different winners?

I'll start off with a few.

Louis vs Conn 1. Conn wins the UD

Marciano vs Walcott 1, Walcott wins the UD

Sugar Ray Leonard vs Thomas Hearns
    Mike Weaver vs John Tate
Jake La Motta vs Laurent Dauthuille
Ray Mancini vs Duk Koo Kim
The last fight was a slugfest marred by tragedy. If Chavez vs Taylor had been 15 rounds i no doubt
a tragedy like this would have occurred.

But that's a false representation imo as the fights were scheduled for 15 rounds and the gameplan reflected that

Robinson was up pretty big. 7-3-3 was the closest.

It is impossible to say since less rounds would have drastically altered every aspect of the fight.

Maxim's strategy revolved around the course of 15 rounds so 12 rounds would have presented a different Joey Maxim.

Ismael Laguna probably would have won 2nd fight against Ken Buchanan if it was a 12 rounder. I think Buchanan swept the last 3 rounds to win. Laguna then might not have fought Duran. Bobby Chacon probably would have lost his epic war against Bazooka Limon if it was a 12 rounder (not sure what cards were but it was really close) Good Idea:ARMS1:

The naive assumption that the 12 round fights would be the 15 round fight, minus the last three rounds!

I am sorry, but the real physical universe doesn’t work that way!

One judge of the Louis Conn fight had the fight a draw after 12 rounds.
