NO...........Lewis was doing better and not getting smashed but in no way was easily beating Tyson. Lewis's OWN words " Cus said before they left that maybe Mike and I would meet up in a championship fight one day and I was thinking I hope not, I don't want to meet up with this animal again" Stop rewriting history please. That ****** Anglosaxon eats lies like this up. Why not go by Lewis's own words. Source "Legendary Nights" the tale of Lewis/ Tyson.......watch it:good
You can only take sparring so seriously. I've seen guys spar, look terrible, and then look spectacular in their next fight. Before fighting Juanma, Rogers Mtagwa was having a lot of trouble with some amateur, but his coach was smart and asked for him to keep sparring him. Result: Almost KO'd Juanma. Seen Chambers spar Tor Hamer before fighting Dimitrenko and "struggle" to a degree. But then he goes and beats Sasha's ass.
That is so different to what Lennox told me It was Tyson ducked Lewis while he was champ same as Bowe did. Lennox knew he had Tysons's #
He's also been working on a book for about 5-6 years now. He's on AOL and I use to chat with him when they had a boxing board. In fact I was one (I'm sure not the only one) who told him to post here cause someone was asking a question about him. Pretty cool guy. He just send me (and I'm sure hundreds of others) a link to his site about two weeks ago.
Ray had to go to Detroit to reportedly get to the Olympic Trials, he became cool with a lot of the Kronk boxers, one of them Thomas Hearns.
Supposedly Andrew Golota and Evander Holyfield used to really lay it on David Tua in the 90's. A lot of Wlad's prestige back in the day was from guys sparring him...supposedly he would manhandle a lot of guys who'd later be something in the division including Tony Thompson, Sam Peter and Juan Carlos Gomez. I remember reading an article way back when, where even when Gomez was at HW, he claimed that Wlad was the best HW on the planet (doesn't happen much with pro's). Same thing with Chagaev. I forget but there was a great read awhile back of some guy who'd spar a lot of 80's Middleweights and really beat their ass, including Tommy Hearns. But he could never really hack it in the pro's.
