There are many famous training places around the world where fighters go because of high elevation or weather.

In mexico there is the centro ceremonial otomi in mexico city ( erik morales)

In the US we often see places like big bear or that lake where steward took taylor once.

Could you mention some other famous trainning grounds around the world and list the things that make it so special.

    Thanks!!

Wild Card in LA baby! That place gets packed to more than capacity when Pacquiao works out and James Toney makes for some colorful sparring sessions.

It's a pure shame they tore down the building without leaving a monument but one of the most famous training places in history was Stillmans Gym in New York.

Almost all the famous trainers in boxing history Arcel, Seamon, Silvani, Bimstein, Goldman, Dundee, D'Amato, passed through Stillmans gym and trained fighters there. Apparently in the 1930's and 1940's, Stillmans was the hangout place where Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, Jack Johnson and others would come just to watch the sparring sessions.

Two other famous gyms that deserve mentioning are the Brewster Atheletic Center in Detroit. Joe Louis used to train there and once asked a young Eddie Futch to spar with him, working on speed in the ring.

The PAL gym in Philadelphia is famous for Joe Frazier's career as well as Bennie Briscoe and Willie "the worm" Monroe.
