South African IBF junior lightweight champion Mzonke Fana has decided to withdraw from his title defense fight against mandatory challenger Argenis Mendez. The fight was scheduled to take place on June 11th in Carnival City, Brakpan. Fana pulled out because he doesnt have a trainer and appropriate training camp to prepare for the fight. It is rumored that the IBF federation may take the belt from Fana. Promoter Branco Milenkovic has stated that Fana-Mendez bout will be replaced by Jeffrey Mathebula and Oscar Chauke who will batte in an IBF junior featherweight eliminator.
Annoying for Mendez. He should be allowed to fight for the vacant title, no need for another eliminator.
balls, I have Mendez in the dream team league. Lad has no luck, he wont be able to super feather much longer so probably wont even get his shot now. Worse when hes arguably the best in the division but cant even get his shot
