Cotto by decision in a good close scrap.

Clottey will give Cotto hell at times but he doesn't have the work rate and consistency (he gets lazy) to apply the necessary pressure to stop Cotto. Cotto's biggest vulnerability is to inside work; uppercuts, and shovel hooks to the body, Clottey doesn't use either of those shots that effectively; he digs to the body pretty well but not in that straight forward manner that negates the use of arms and elbows as a guard (Margarito did it very well).

I want a ****ing stoppage by Cotto and will not be happy unless this happens! not even a wide decision will quench my thirst for a beatdown. I want Clottey prostrate on the canvas Hatton style. Cotto by decision is a forgone conclusion I want blood, I want electricity. but all I will probably get is a bull**** decision. Oh well bring on positive Cotto wins by decison but want the KO

Unless either of the two fighter get caught early.
This fight has the makings of a short fight, OR, a long drawn out decision with Clottey chasing Cotto all over the ring for the last 4 rounds.

    Clottey wins this fight.

Although i give Clottey a decent chance at the upset, he is by no means a pressure fighter, nor is he anywhere near Margarito's level as a pressure fighter. He doesn't have a high work rate, and he isn't a particularly big puncher. He has let C level opposition go the distance with him many times, fighters who Margarito would have molested.

Saying he is a better pressure fighter than Margarito is ridiculous.

Its really hard to predict this one. Pre-Margarito I would definitely go with Cotto. Personally, I dont think Clottey is that great. He's a big, durable welterweight but he lacks the pressure of Margarito. I could see this fight turning out similar though. I could see Cotto coming out hard and fast and getting discouraged that he cant stop Clottey or get through his defense. And Clottey to turtle up for the first half of this fight, then as Cotto fades down the stretch, Clottey picking up the pace and either scoring a late stoppage from Cotto being drained or a UD, so i see where a lot of you are coming from. Or even vice versa in Cotto's favor.

There are too many intangibles to pick Cotto. First, again, has he recovered from the Margo fight? Second, will the fight with his uncle and new trainer be a distraction? Third, has he trained properly and studied Clottey to go in with the right game plan?

For some reason I see Clottey coming out hard and fast. Kind of like he did in the Margo fight. I see him countering Cotto and picking him apart. The difference is Cotto cant take the shots Margarito took.

Official pick: Im gonna go against my guy instinct just for fun and since the majority are picking either Cotto or Clottey by late stoppage or UD, im going to pick Clottey with an early stoppage. Im pulling for Cotto though.
