After seeing his followers agree that he does have a chance versus Cotto. I would like to see Juan fight Cotto. This fight would benifit a lot of fans. Juan is really in a no lose situation. Would get a big payday, and most likely the chance against pacquiao if he wins. Plus his status will surly elevate leaving MAB and EM in the dust.

For floyd fan, a juan win would legitimize his win. Many people just saw him fight a fat marquez who can't move or hurt him.

For pac fans, would give them the chance to see him get knock the **** **** out. If he does win. Manny would get a legitimate guy to fight. pacquaio is running out of guys to fight. Berto, Floyd, and mosley is the only option for him. One is old the other is green, the last probably in jail.

I for one dont think Marquez would have a chance versus the great cotto. yes Marquez is a better fighter. but a great big man always beat a great little man. Pacquaio did it, but Marquez dont have the gift pacqauio has. I could be wrong. Which is why I think fans should push for this fight.

I'd like to see him back up his words. Well, not really. I'd like to see him eat his words.

It would be interesting but no reason for it. Maybe at 140 it would have been a good fight, but even then it's too novelty. Marquez has competitors in his own weight class, as does Cotto; they should both finish off strong before they retire. Just because JMM said he thinks he could have competed against similar opponents doesn't mean Pac fans have to rally around a weight-jump for a great fighter to see him eat his words. Pac is the pound for pound number 1, enjoy it without being immature nuthuggers.

Marquez isn't going to move up to welterweight let alone junior middleweight.

I cant though, as much as I would like to see the fight, I would blast any other 147lb or 154lb fighter for fighting JMM (like I did Floyd), so just because its my fav fighter, I cant just flip the script and defend that move.

Personally, since he thinks he can beat cotto, and voiced it in public, and some fans think he could, I wont lie, I would watch with interest to see these two fight eachother, but I couldnt defend it, and I wont call for it.

Cotto UD or late TKO though if it does happen, and if it happens, I will be watching with anticipation.

The difference though with Cotto and Mayweather, was Cotto is nothing but a contender right now.... JMM is not getting a 'shot' at Cotto, and Cotto has no obligation right now to face anyone else. He himself is on a comeback trail from devistating losses, in which he still needs to put 2 wins in a row together, and hasnt for quite awhile now.

Mayweather was p4p #1 and was considered 'the man' at welter by many, he had obligations to fight the people fans were calling him to fight, or his next best challenger.

The two are in different positions when it comes to this fight, and I dont think Cotto facing JMM would be as bad as when Mayweather did it, due to Mayweathers much much higher standing as an elite fighter, but still..... I dont think this would be the right move. Cotto would get no credit for beating JMM and Cotto should be focusing on his peer contenders at 147 and 154 anyways.

Cotto wouldn't be able to fight under 147, i don't think at least. And Marquez would probably ask for a CW. I don't think Cotto would oblige that after his last outing with a catchweight, even though he never said it gave him ill effects. More to do with the fact that he fought as a JrMW last.

Marquez would pull of upset of the year if he managed this one.

It would probably be a bit more interesting that people think, up until the left hook ends it.

The more I talk about it, the more it makes sence for me. The way Juan is talking. He's just looking for a cash out. I think this fight would do good on the PPV for reasons above. The only one it don't benefit Cotto. As a cotto fan, dont see it benifiting him sep for an easy fight getting paid. But I would watch this. But I agree with everyone else. Marquez should just fight people around his weight class.
