It seems most fans, including Canelo supporters, have problems with his weight terms. Would Canelo have more support and even Ggg camp be more open to catch weight if Canelo was not a MW champion and just challenge ggg at 155?

Only 4 people support these Demands: Canelo, De La Oscar, MVC! and another professional troll I can't remember the name of right now, he'll be along shortly though no doubt.

A guy that rehydrates to 175 should not force a guy that rehydrates to 170 to fight a unification bout for 3 belts plus lineal title at a catch weight of 155 pounds just because the former is young enough to pull of this tremendously damaging trick. especially given that the belts are for 160 lb weight class.

Part of me thinks that all middleweight fights should be at 160, and hates DLH for pulling more stupid ****, but once again, Tom Loeffler did say that they would fight ANYBODY from 154 -168; and the other part of me thinks, "well, OK, keep your word."

The Triple Duck claimed he would fight anyone from 154-168. What's he waiting on?

If Canelo was a true 154'er, something like 157-58 could be supported. But Canelo is so massive that even 159 is absurd.

    Isn't middle weight technically 155 to 160?

Sure and if the title is on the line, 155-160 should be allowed.

That said, if Canelo drops the belts and just offers the fight at the cw, GGG would probably blow it off as too risky.

I wish Canelo would just take fight at 160, ffs, this **** is stupid.

If Canelo gets beat gy Golovkin, there's no great shame there and I can't believe his fans would stop buying his ppvs.

The weight limit of the division is 160.

Technically anything under 160, could hypothetically be sanctioned as a MW fight. Just like Floyd technically defended his 154 titles at 147 vs Maidana.

It just doesn't happen very often in practice.

Since the division limit is 160, obviously title bouts should be contested at that limit. Obviously if one guy wants to weigh in at 155 or even less that is their prerogative.

Divisions are based on their weight limit , not their weight range.

:admin IMO... Canelo's between a rock & a hard place.

If he gives up his belt/refusing to fight GGG @ 160 lbs.

Canelo looses a lot of his fan base.

If Canelo fights GGG @ 160 lbs. Canelo looses the fight.

O$CAR has really messed this up.... GBP's Golden Goose is rapidly
    losing his shine.

Basically sums up how I feel, can't be emotional or overtly negative towards either for this reason. Hopefully the fight gets done regardless of stipulations

it isn't just that they said "anyone from 154-168"...the said that in 2012...and then amended that by saying "a big ppv fight from 154-168"...to which ggg fans now claim meant Floyd or pac

canelo is the next best thing to Floyd and pac and a big ppv fight....he is basically gggs Floyd/pac now....

so I don't get it really

In 2012 when Canelo/Cotto were actually a 154ers and GGG was still coming up, I've no doubts he would have moved down for those fights.

The only reason people hold him up to that statement is because it's a convenient way to hate on him still.

It's like if in 4 years people would hate on Gilberto Ramirez if he becomes a pretty well known fighter for not moving down to fight a middleweight because he called out Golovkin at 160 4 years ago.
