Now dont get me wrong, I enjoy a good tactical boxing match between 2 fighters who are actually attempting to hurt or take thier opponents out! What I cant stand is watching 2 technical fighters who's idea of a good boxing match is to avoid engaging while flicking jabs and throwing out pity pat shots while dancing around for 12rounds

Me as a fan, I watch boxing to be entertained. In my opinion, the objective is to take you're opponent out.

Lets take JMM for example. One of the purest, most technical boxers in the sport. What sets him apart from say....Cory Spinks, Floyd Mayweather jr, Andre Dirrell, Devon Alexander, etc... Is that JMM goes into the fight with the intention of taking his opponent out all the while displaying his technical side and utilizing great boxing skills.

It seems as if most fans of the "sweet science" prefer a fight with very little action and look down on a guy who enters the ring, lays it all on the line, and goes for the KO. Why?

There has to be a balance.

I don't find two sluggers swinging their arms aimlessly, pleasing to watch.

I rather watch a technical fight then a slugging match anyday. Of course it would have to be a good match up in styles.

Example: JMM-Pacman is a good technical fight
    Casamayor-Guerrero horrible technical fight.

    This.

Anyone who defends a slick but boring fight like Bradley-Alexander really have ulterior motives in the sense they are defending their favorite boxer's style. There have been exciting fights between 2 slick boxers. Bradley-Alexander was not one of them.

The main objective in boxing is to win...taking people out tends to come hand in hand with that. The guys who go into the ring looking for the KO, come unstuck sooner or later.

I wouldn't say Marquez goes in there looking to take his opponent out...his great accuracy, combination punching and power tends to get his opponent out...but I'm sure he doesn't go looking for the KO/TKO from the opening bell. Mayweather is similar in that he breaks his opponent down, and if the KO/TKO comes, good.

I don't mind watching any type of bout. Whether it's Pacquiao's all action style, Marquez's counter-punching ability, or Mayweather's laid back pot-shotting style. It's all entertaining.

P.S. Watching someone showcase their superior boxing ability, talent, technical ability over 12 rounds is very pleasing on the eye in my opinion.

Lets just say that JMM is much more aggressive than your adverage technical boxer. He's not satisfied with just flicking out jabs and pot shotting. He sets up his combos and fires them off every chance he gets!

I've hear crazier things. There's people who actually stated that they liked Wlad/Ibragimov! They must be masochists!

So can I to an extent. I dont mind watching 2 technical boxers as long as they both dont have the mind frame of going into the fight and jabbing thier opponent to a 12rnd decision. To me, theres absolutely nothing entertaining about that.
