Didnt realize Witherspoon turned pro at 22 and only had six amatuer fights. He learned on the job, but I knew he was a long time sparring partner for Ali, so he got good experience there. Good read.
Lot's of good information about Tim Witherspoon's past that I never realized, John. This was a great find, and thanks for posting it. Witherspoon seems to have had a fairly tite family unit and a very interesting story to go along with it. Although I was not surprised, I find it disappointing that Holmes behaved so harshly to Witherspoon and his family leading up to the match.. Larry was a great champion, but not always a perfect gentleman.
