Fascinating stuff re Tyson over the years. You can see the confidence in Peters eyes when he talks about Tyson. You can see how highly he rates him, he knows he's got something special in Tyson. Sounds like the big man sparred 10 rounds too which is great new. They're optimistic about getting the ban lifted to put him on Hughie's undercard, fingers crossed.

Say what you like about the Fury's but Peter is a great trainer and a hugely insightful boxing figure. Tyson when fit is the best heavyweight in the world and and Hughie is unquestionably a top prospect at his age.

Agree knows his stuff. I ve got a sneaky feeling hughies a very live underdog in this fight with parker. He looks like one of them you dont know how good he is till hes in their with a good fighter. Like tyson hes awkward. Hes also skilled. Got a feeling he,ll frustrate parker with parker struggling with him with the 74 inch reach. Hughies feights a thing of beauty. People will struggle against it. 6 foot 6. If he wasnt dealing with so many health problems he,d be a lot further on than he is imo. I think like tyson hes better when fighting on the back foot. Parker will try and force him back reckon it,ll bring out the best in hughie.

Hughie's got more skill imo, Parker has more power. Hughie's been kept out the limelight a fair bit and the people who tune in for the odd domestic mega fights won't really have seen him. This is his biggest ever fight and what he's been building up for. Parker is a bit more battle hardened imo with his scraps with Ruiz and Takam and more accustomed to the big occasion. To me the result is down to whether Hughie thrives under the pressure or wilts.

Yeah good post mate. Only big questionmark is hughies preparation for its been terrible. His whole careers been a bit like that with one thing after another. No sure its ideal preparation for a world title fight. I rate parker but been a bit unconvinced recently. Hes getting the championship rounds in i suppose against decent opposition tho...can only help him.

But reckon hughie can turn into a difficults nites work for him. Wouldnt surprise me if he sneaked a tight win out. No sure hughies the type to be phased by much think his problem if there is one on the nite will be he can be a bit too laid back if anything. I think he,ll be on it tho. I think hes the type to fight to his opposition. The better the opponent the better he,ll be. The skills there anyway.

Tyson was tipped for the top many years ago and turned pro being trained by a different uncle. Peter hasn't done enough to be referred to as a genius trainer.

When Peter took Tyson on Tyson was seen by most as not anywhere near as good as David Price, was struggling against people he shouldn't have. Peter changed his style and made him an outstanding boxer

Think the only ones that tipped tyson for the top at the start was his dad...who lets be honest isnt exactly the best reference in the world and mick hennesay. Who happened to be his promoter. Very few outside the camp believed he would go on to do that. Wasnt until after probably the cunningham fight he started to look like he could seriously do something. But even then not many including myself had him down to beat klitchko. Started becoming apparent we we,re watching a different guy from the one that arguably lost to the fat guy a good few years back. Cant remember his name had decent skills tho for a guy that always looked like he got the phone call the nite before after a couple of months of pizza nites on the sofa.

He's no more a liar than anyone else in boxing. Things happen in boxing behind the scenes that change circumstances quickly and these things can't always be revealed to the public. If anything Peter is generally brutally honest. The only times he's lied is to protect his fighters which is something every trainer, promoter or manager does.
