My 2 all time favourite middleweights, monzon would break gerald and stop him round the 12th round, but monzon would have to get up of the floor to do so

Monzon would physche-out Gerald, who was a great puncher, but at 160lbs, although both struggled to make weight, I think Gerald struggled that bit more. He was not even that comfortable making 168lbs let alone a lower weight than that!

Monzon is too experienced, too battle-hardened, too seasoned for the G-Man! There would certainly be fireworks in this one. However, I see Monzon in some ways schooling McCllelan, who would not doubt have tried to get Monzon out of there asap!

Monzon would outclass G-Man badly before stopping him. Valdez was better than McClellan.

Who was the best fighter Gman KO'd at middle? Mugabi and Jackson had both been KO'd early before facing him, as well as being old, former-light middles.... no doubt GMan had power at middle but it was never tested against a top class middle

I dont think that applies with Mcclellan. Hes power was something else...and it was tested. If it wasnt for an exceptional set of circumstances he would have had benn out in 1 at SMW. Hes also has wins like that guy who he destroyed in round 1 who went 12 rounds with Hopkins and some other top fighter prior....

no doubt mccellan had big time power, you have to give him a chance against anyone cause of that punch, but i agree with lot of the posts to pick over monzon is crazy, monzon is arguably the greatest mw of all time where as mccellan was a great puncher but just a good fighter, monzon by late stoppage or comfortable decision

Benn got up and took Gmans power... the guys who he bombed out at middle were bums, just like most of the guys Valero has bombed out...
