Who wins and how?Short breakdown(or long).:bbb Bazooka This content is protected vs Tito This content is protected ...
Quartey isn't the greater fighter but he's the better boxer and I think he out-boxes Trinidad at welterweight, if it's at welterweight. Just my knee-jerk reaction.
Ike defense and lack of mobility lets him down here...I just think he doesnt have enough savvy to get out of the way of Tito's firepower. He will not go quietly and will probably pick up a lot of early rounds with his jab. But I reckon he just takes two many hards shots from Tito and gets stopped in the mid-late rounds.
This would be a war in my opinion. I lean toward Trinidad to win on points but would expect him to hit the deck and be troubled by Quartey's jab.
I think early on its Ike, sticking his jab in titos face and catching him with those chopping right hands, but as the rounds wear on, and ikes lack of real mobility and his cover up defence start to become a weakness as Tito continues his assault, i see momentum shifting around round 6 and 7, ikes activity starts to fade and tito starting to pile on the punishment late.... winning the championship rounds late (remember, ike tended to fade in the championship rounds, tito owns the championship rounds, add to that ikes stationary style and i wouldnt be suprised to see ike go down) Tito wins by SD
Ike starts off hot with his amazing jab and sticks it in TIto's face consistently during the early going. Ike consistently has Tito off balance early, catching Tito with the sharpest jab in the game and at one point knocking down Tito as per the norm in any Tito Trinidad fight. Some point during the middle rounds, Tito Trinidad catches Ike with a big overhand right that puts Ike on the defensive. Tito tries to finish Ike but Ike is a tough guy and he still has the superior jab in this fight. He does enough to steal some rounds but finds himself eating the bigger, more impactful punches. Like Kirk suggested, Ike would probably lose a close SD.
I think Ike would at first give Tito absolute hell with his jab and right hand. Tito probably suffers his traditional 2nd round KD, from a straight right. I pick Tito to come back and stop Ike in the mid to late rounds, while behind on points.
I chose Tito, but I think both are equally skilled in their own way. But Tito is mentally stronger than Ike, and can take this fight to all 12 rounds. Ike might mentally give up at some point with all the pressure that Tito puts on him, and Tito seems to grow stronger as the fight goes on. Nice matchup though.
