Certainly than Barkley. That's more on the Dawson level. Jirov and Nunn is up there, but I'd consider Kova above the Nunn win of said reason. Jirov... worth thinking about.

He looked great in those fights, but the opponents weren't of the highest order. Wards gets practicaly no credit for Dawson, and I don't see why Toney should get more for Barkley.

Toney was never not in shape at 168

Would've responded sooner but wanted to find the exact spot where RJJ was asked if he knew it would be this easy- his statement was "I knew it would be difficult because of the weight James had to lose would be a difficult thing to handle."

So we disagree, Toney was always an inshape/out a shape fighter.

I believe he was 32-0 with 29 ko's when James beat him. 3 weight classes up.

Because Toney was fighting for Barkley's IBF super middle title that he had won two fights earlier instead of dragging him down to a division he hadn't fought in for multiple years.

The win over Jirov was immense. If you want to rank it over Ward's second over Kova, I have no problems with that. Don't really know where I stand myself on the issue. Quite a few things to take into consideration for that one.

Barkley had had his two previous fights at 175 and would be 208 lbs for his next one. He must have killed himself to make 168. And let's not forget the war he was in with Hearns shortly before.

Tarver schooled Griffin, he was pretty easy to beat.

Toney got hit far more by Jirov than Ward did by Kov.

Nunn was very easy to hit v Toney, he just kept punching which leaves you open to counters Ward used feint jabs a lot more than Nunn and Dundee told Nunn to follow up the jab with his cross to prevent the right hand counter but he didn`t listen Ward would not make that mistake he was always ready for the counter.

Ward threw a lot of defensive jabs v Kessler Mike never used to do that, he also left his lead hand near Kessler`s face so it had less distance to travel, he also constantly feinted with his lead hand.
