Let's say prime JLC (the JLC from 1st Mayweather fight) moves up 5 pounds to challenge, Lucas the Machine Matthysse... who wins? THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND Castillo was a HUGE 135, so idk if Lucas would have that much size difference. Castillo has NEVER been knocked down, iron chin Matthysse has bigger power, but I would argue JLC is more skilled War No Doubt!
I think Castillos style was better apt to give boxers and technical fighters problems, but elite punchers, say like Matthysse? 135, Castillo is a great fighter. Above that weight, I don't like his chances. I think best way to beat Lucas is to be quick of hands and feet, stick and move, and get the hell out Mattysses way!
Agree with this completely. I'd pick Castillo via close and controversial SD. The bottom line is that Castillo is so much greater than Zab Judah is that I can't ignore that, also Matthysse has improved since then. And that I think Castillo was better than Matthysse is. The 5 pounds makes it interesting though. Close to a 50/50 fight either way... There is only a very slim chance Matthysse would knock Castillo out. Let us be real here. There have been a few that have stood up to Matthysse's power and beat him. Or even if you think he should be undefeated, beating Judah and Alexander by the tiniest of margins isn't exactly great for ones' "fantasy H2H ranking."
