And explain why if you'd like. For me?

Liston vs Frazier (Lean towards somewhat marginally Liston. Frazier's pressure inside and through that jab. Liston isn't terribly bad on the inside for having long reach).

Liston vs Holyfield (Instincts tell me Holy is all wrong for him. On paper Liston should win, but things don't happen on paper the way they should. Holy has fortitude and heart).

Marciano vs Frazier (I lean Marciano, but Marciano can get too wild/open which could spell troubling counters. I feel Marciano's two fisted power edge and superior stamina reserve leave him ultimately the winner).

Marciano vs Liston (The shortest reach against one of the longest HW reaches. Liston with that thunder jab. Marciano thought "Liston could be had." Marciano will and fortitude with his heart/stamina and ability to withstand punishment give me reservations of hope. On paper, Liston is overwhelmingly the favorite).

Ali vs Lewis (Lewis is big, technical, powerful and has a huge right hand. Lewis has reach and height. Ali has to use his movement and quickness to win this one. In a 15 round fight I see Ali taking it. But 12 rounds it's close, heck in 15 rounds it's close. Lewis is just a big technical guy. And his chin won't have trouble against Ali. He proved to withstand a lot but it is a bit flakey towards a big punch. Ali won't threatening him with. I lean Ali with some confidence to win a decision but Lewis has all the tools to stylistically beat/trouble Ali).

Holmes vs Lewis (This one is really a tossup. Holmes can get too much into brawling. He needs to use movement. Luckily for him he has a bit more sting and a better left jab than Lewis. However, he's facing a big technical guy. Tough fight, I might favor Lewis).

Louis vs Marciano (Louis didn't like slick boxer types. He also didn't love pressure. It was a "hidden secret" he later said. Marciano has tremendous fortitude and walloping punch. Louis doesn't have the best chin. Can he win a decision in a 15 round fight (Maybe) but can he take and give with Marciano consistently like that. A tossup of a fight. I see no issue with favoring Louis, but I hold good reservation with Rocky's chances).

Louis vs Lewis (I think Lewis might take it. I'm not huge on Louis H2H. I give him dues but I don't rate him as highly as most do. I just think Lewis is a big technician that could trouble him. Louis took care over many big fighters. Here is a guy that's bigger with more reach and power. Louis is a better technician with more heart and quicker hands. But how does he do with the rangier and more powerful fighter...?).

Monzon vs Hagler (Lean towards Monzon but it's tough. Little input on this one).

Liston vs Holmes (I lean toward Holmes. But this guy is technical and has power. Holmes doesn't look mightedly impressive with the way he fight some of the guys on his resume. Holmes tendency to brawl makes for a more interesting fight than needed).

I'm starting to blank out now. Do you guys have a few that come to mind?

Thought you would have said Gomez-Morales.

The consensus here is that Gomez wins, but people here are quicker to chalk that one up than myself.

Some good ones there. Pep-Armstrong is a real good one. Foreman Liston is another good one. I think Tyson-Holmes and Tyson-Liston are somewhat tough ones to pick.

Why Teeto? I see Gomez winning, too varied offensively and fluent in slight defensive moves and slips for Morales IMO. Considering the amount of times Morales allowed himself to get hit whilst engaging his opponents (effectively I may add) a surgeon like Goemz would be taking him apart en route to a late-round stoppage IMO. Especially when you consider his battering of another upright and tall Bantam like Zarate (Morales' proficiency at 122 compared to Zarate's why I give him more rounds in this fight, and of course his different style )

The hardest one for me is Koki Kameda vs Ricardo Lopez.

Seriously, Prime Ali (possibly Clay in that case) against Prime Holmes.
Wilfredo Gomez vs Eder Jofre at 122.
Sal Sanchez vs Alexis Arguello at 130 (too many variables, note this is not the proposed LW matchup before Sal's untimely death but my own 'what if Sal moves up 4lbs nd meets Prime Alexis)
Sweet Pea vs Aaron Pryor (at 140 obviously)

There are others, but it's late and I'm stoned:good

Marciano Versus Dempsey; (I'd give this one to Jack because I don't see Rocky surviving Dempsey's first round assault.)

Liston VS Foreman; (I'd give this one to George because Sonny lacks heart sometimes, and George could murder Liston from the distance.)

Frazier VS. Liston; (Frazier wins. Sonny never met a pressure fighter like Frazier, and how many of those thunderous left hook counters could Sonny take before quitting?)

Dempsey VS. Liston; (This one could go eitheir way. Either man could knock out the other.)

Frazier VS. Marciano; (Frazier would win. Faster handspeed, and he was the more accuarate puncher. Rocky leaves himself open too much with those wild swings.)

Frazier VS. Dempsey; (Could go either way, but I'd lean slightly towards Frazier)

Frazier VS. Tyson; (Frazier gets up off the floor to knock out Tyson in the later rounds. Tyson should win this, but I'd imagine that he'd get discouraged when Frazier kept surviving the knockdowns and kept coming at him.)

Frazier VS. Tua; (Tua could hurt Joe, but I really don't see Frazier losing this one. Tua couldn't hang.)

Frazier VS. Joe Louis; (I'd give this one to Frazier. He'd slip the Louis jab and work the body, and trap him against the ropes for the KO, just as Marciano did.)

Tyson VS. Ali (Ali would win this. Tyson could only win if he worked the body in the early rounds to slow Ali down just as Frazier did. Tyson could also score a knockout by getting inside and throwing a dangerous combination. But knowing Tyson, Ali would get inside his head and defeat him mentally, then physically.)

Tyson VS. Joe Louis (Again, Tyson could win, but most likely he wouldn't. Louis had too many weapons in his arsenal and he'd knock out an unconfident Mike Tyson.)

Jack Dempsey VS Joe Louis (Dempsey could win this. But I'd lean slightly towards Louis getting the knockout first. But it could go either way.)

    Nice list.

Could you please explain this to me? Liston was the better technician, boxer, and had a longer reach. How is George murdering Liston from the distance?

    Frazier fan by the way?

You're right about Sonny. However, he might get struck by a hard Foreman blow and get thrown off his game and have no answer. Seeing him stay down after a "phantom punch" and lay motionless after the Leotis Martin knockdown makes me question his heart after a knockdown.

Right, but you implied Foreman would be out-boxing Liston from the distance. Liston was a master of distance and could bang/slug with the best. I'm not saying Foreman doesn't win, I just didn't get that reason. But I guess you mean Liston wouldn't be able to handle a Foreman blow and would freeze when getting tagged...

Williams-Ortiz is the main one for me.

Wow. I do not agree with ANY of your choices. Dempsey knock Marciano out in the 1st? In your dreams. Foreman beat Liston? If I was ever so confident a fighter would win a fantasy fight, its liston over foreman. Liston would defintley beat dempsey. Frazier over Liston? What are you smoking, Liston would annihilate him. Marciano Frazier is a good one, but I prefer Marcianos two fisted power and better chin over Frazier. Frazier over Tyson and Louis are ridiculous picks. Frazier would be lucky to make it past 3 vs tyson, and no way would frazier ever beat joe louis. When Frazier comes into Louis, he will be destroyed.

Sure I went a little overboard there, but I am shocked at your picks above.

 Yes I guess a flush right hand on a washed up old man from a young prime contender shouldnt hurt too much...its not like Leotis could hit. He only killed a man.

Sure as hell beats Frazier getting bounced up and down like a YO YO by crude foreman. Yet you pick him to beat Liston Louis and Tyson

I am a Sonny Liston fanatic what can I say? LoL. The only fighters in history I am confident in picking over a Prime Sonny Liston are Joe Louis and Muhammad Ali.

It's not just that. It's that you couldn't resist tearing apart all of his picks! It's alright though. I think I was actually waiting for you to after I saw those picks. I was like "Uh oh, Suzie going to tear these guys pick a new ass hole." LoL.
