If Terrence Crawford fought Ruslan Provodnikov today, both in tip top shape and condition what would be the result? This fight is scheduled for 12 rounds.
Ruslan has a chance but for all the talk about his chin, power and how dangerous he is. I think he's closer to LM than most others. From what I've seen, he goes hard early but when an opponent fights back and is making it difficult, he's trying to win less and less. He almost accepts defeat. I don't think he'd ever flat out quit like LM had but he stops putting himself in harms way. A tough journeyman, but that's the best he can be. Especially at his age, while starting to outgrow 140, at 5'5" (real height) I don't see him becoming a factor at ww. Shouldn't dream or w/e matches be at least with elite talent ?
Gamboa, who many projected to be a p4p king. Provodnikov, a longtime & like Crawford IMO natural 140lber, was considered (probably not unfairly) to have an ESPN2 FNF ceiling until Bradley fought him like a macho dolt in the wake of Pac 1 just to prove a point, elevating Ruslan's perceived stock.
Provodnikov can KO him, I don't think Crawford can KO Provodnikov, 50/50 match IMO. Ruslan has a puncher's chance.
:nono Ruslan couldn't knock out a shot Chop-Chop. He couldn't even cleanly knock out a shot Augustus, which Omotoso had managed to do the year before.
:deal Absolutely true. Crawford would let him work the first 2 rounds and wear himself down and then begin to pick him apart.
