George Kimball will be talking about his book and taking a look at the heavyweight scene. He was at Wayne McCullough's last fight. He has a good story to tell about that. George is proper old-school - not one of those American/British boxing writers who go to three shows a year and try and talk like they are experts. George is real. Adios.
Glad those repeat times have been posted on here as my TV listings say Boxing Hour is due to be repeated 6pm tomorrow (17th) on Setanta Sports 1 which was when I was going to tune in! The evening repeats are great - would be even better if regular repeat slots could be earmarked (same time & channel). Easier to remember and less likely to miss. :good
Sorry about all the mad times. When I'm there tomorrow I will post the definitive times. Remember the emails - This content is protected . There WILL be a slot for texts. I promise. Adios.
Man, I even threatened to ignore Bunces threads cos he didnt say hello, & still big Daddy wont aknowledge me! What do I do now to get attention from the man, moan about how his show concentrates on english fighters ONLY every week? The only scottish boxing we get from his show is the odd phone call from Alex Arthur, while clips are running of him being KO'd by Gomez. & whenever Welsh boxing is being spoken about, Big Enzo Maccarinelli suffers the same fate. Whenever Bunce has Enzo on the phone, you can bet your ass whilst Enzo is talking, the footage of Macarinelli being Ko'd by David Haye is being shown. Shouldnt this show be renamed as Bunces ENGLISH boxing hour? Cos thats what its become if you ask me. Sugar Ray Clay Jones jnr in the studio, Lee Meager in the studio, if Bunce wants to sell his show in here, he should realise that some of us have interest in boxing from all over the UK, not just England. & you can take that to the bank. The novelty of Bunce posting here is well & truly over. If he wants us all to worship him & his show, he better up his game. & that means less demanding we watch him here, & more us demanding what we want to see on his boxing show. Its as simple as that really. We regulars have been here a lot longer than Bunce or his show, & we will be here long after its done if hes not careful. Bunce, you been warned. You picked on the wrong bunch when you picked on the ESB crew, talking to us like we are your bitches!!! Dunky McCafferty, going strong on ESB since 2004.
Errm...who else is there in Scottish boxing to talk about apart from Alex Arthur??? Come to think of it, who is Alex Arthur??! Dunky your inferiority complex is disturbing!!! Chill out man.
C'moan Dunk , you know I've usually got your back but thats a bit of a f**kin xenophobic rant there bud. Buncey is a proper journalist, I've had to choke them back reading his column in the BM on occasion and some of the articles he's done in the Glasgow Herald have been ****ing ace. Spouting opinions on the internet is not the same as making a living as a proffesional journalist , making people feel things with what you write , making people think with what you write and all that from a sporting journo ! I don't want to slag you off , you're a funny guy and a good analyst in your own right but get the toys back in the pram bro , its doing you no favours
Sounds like a great show you have there Buncey/Big Daddy or whatever your bloody name is. Setanta really does seem to be the home of boxing.
Scottish bias? Rubbish. I pushed like mad for McIntyre to be made mandatory - has anybody outside of Scotland said or written a word in support? I plug Limond all the time. I was positive about Scott's situation and still support him returning to the ring. I have no say on the choice of film for Alex or Enzo. Quite the reverse - I don't think it's fair to show the Haye loss. I write for the Sunday Herald. Relax wee man. Adios.
I think anyone who didn't think McIntyre should be the mandatory ought to go and watch some other sport :deal Just shows the BBBC pandering to Warren - the statement was pathetic 'the only date available to the promoter was ......' WTF is more important - fighters or promoters. If Macca had a doctors report confirming his injury then that should have sufficed for the fight to be rescheduled. **** promoters - this sport is about fighters and fans. The game would be a lot better without leeches like Warren :deal
He is actually telling the truth here. I read his article in the Scottish Herald and he was firmly behind Scott Harrison in his proposed bout with Nicky Cook. That being said he did lie to sports fans by insisting in the same article that the Americans loved 'our boy' Hatton BEFORE the Castillo fight which was bollocks actually given his two mediocre performances in the States prior to that fight....we also got a taste of the reaction of the American's to those bouts on our very own ESB... So Bunce is not above bullshitting to those with a limited knowledge of the sport. And this annoys me. I prefer objectivity over blatant bias, and Bunce most certainly has that when it comes to British fighters.
We love Hatton. 56,000 the other day. Over 40,000 went to Las Vegas for his 2007 fights. He has set all sorts of box-office records. HBO love Hatton - fact. We are all greats after fights happen. Get real. Adios.
