Of course most of it is mental....it is 90% mental after all. Once you get hammered like Hatton got hammered against Mayweather and Pac then you have to be a seriously special guy to come back from it.....or a much younger man than Hatton is. He's doing the right thing, his best days are gone and it's best left alone now. I believe he's earnt £45 million from boxing, if I had that kind of money there's no way I'd risk my health further, I'd want to enjoy it to the extreme. In Hattons case I suspect that will mean him hitting 20 stone in the next 18 months :rofl
I would say 'thanks for the fights Ricky!' Good fighter, tenacious little fighter with the will to win and desire to face the best, good champ, one of my favs and an entertaining character as well, and seems like a good guy. Was hoping he would get one more good win before he retired but wasnt to be i suppose. Hope he enjoys his retirement :good.
Good riddance Ricky Hatton! You told me to bet my house on you and you were in a damn coma in round 2!
dumb move, he could have made a 10,000,000 pound pay day beating down some bum atsch Hell come back when he loses all his cash...
A warrior is gone...Bad end to his career but still a great fighter...3 time World Champion in 2 weight classes (140-147)...Unified 2 belts at 140...He will probably go to the HOF...
Yes it wasn't the best ending but it's better this way than if he tried fighting again for once last chance at glory. Cotto needs to follow Hatton's lead.
