This guy is undefeated in 37 fights but his two best opponents have probably been Melvin Foster W SD and Sedrick Fields W MD. He's 34 years old. When is this guy going to step up in class. He's fought eight guys with more wins than losses. I think only five opponents have made it the distance with him. He's 6' 7". Maybe he and Tye Fields could go at it.

Faruq Saleem is well known in the NY state heavy scene as a very predictable yet carefully matched guy who only fights when he feels he needs to. He was somewhat of a prospect years ago but has remained unbeaten and lost all real ambition.. Lazy really but a decent man to have in camp or the gym as a respectable sparring partner. Bottom line, Faruq isn't that special any more, he is just proud of his unbeaten status, and isn't prepared to risk anything any more..

Hmmm. I kind of gathered that since he hasn't been terribly active. Maybe if the prospect of a high dollar fight came up he could become motivated.

That is a possibility, but trust me , look at it like this, when food that was once regarded as the finest (fillet Mignon) is left out of the fridge for a long period of time.. It does go very crusty and stale.. Unbeaten or not , he is a BUMP waiting to happen, and that is why he rarely fights any mo..

Im sure he'd fight for the right money. He's the type of guy who has the record a up and comming prospect wouldnt mind on his record!! Someone like Odlanier Solis Fonte who'd beat Saleem easily but has the mney behind him to drag Saleem into the ring!

Actually the more i think about it the more sense this fight makes sense for Solis!
