Very weird if not the weirdest end to a fight by way of fast count

Did the ref wave 10 without saying it?

Was Malik up by 10? He started getting up at 9 not 8 is it a chance he didnt make it?

Did Malik take a dive? He sure as hell wasnt protesting even clapped as the announcer called it?

    Very odd

    9
pause (ready to count out) hit's 9.5 on the count
Starts waving just as Malik is starting to stand-up

Ref looks confused like 'wtf you standing up now for son?'

Ref should have counted 9,10 then waved to prevent the excuses. Malik made his decision to continue too late.

Badly executed count + unsure/undecisive fighter = odd stoppage

Malik beat the count but his own fault for getting it that close and ref should not have stopped it. So both failed.

I understand Malik was gathering himself down there, but you can't wait until the final minute. That was just lame. It's not like you're not going to get a few extra seconds once you stand up anyways. The ref is still going to ask you if you're ok and check your gloves. So lame the way it ended. :/

It was either a terrible sense of situational awareness, or a covert quit job. The ref had been goofy all fight, so you can't play with fire like that.

If it wasn't a way out of the fight, I will say that for a guy in that circumstance, he took it awfully well.

Scott sucked carrots in this fight, and was on his way to a loss. But the referee was clearly partial in this fight and screwed up big time.

I think this might actually be turned into a nc.

Why would it be turned into a NC?

If it'd been a top end title fight and big $s and reps were riding on it someone might make a fuss. Malik and Del boy tho? No-one's gonna kick off over it, are they ? - sounds of it, Chisora was looking at the win anyways.

Refs decision final. Even when the ref appears badly wrong, managers and fighters rarely contest - I've heard the governing bodies can hold serious grudge.

I do find it inexplicable that someone that experienced waits until 9 to get up. Suspicious definitely.

Ref ****ed up. The first 9 seconds of a count belong to the downed boxer.

Ref was probably paid off by ******. And Scott will probably be paid off when he goes home. Everybody's a winner.

I think scott wanted the fight to end, Stood up at 9 to give the ref a chance to steal it from him. He was doing ok in the fight but he had to know that he lost once he got knocked down. Maybe he thought it would be better to lose by ko than to let chisora get a decision on him. After all Scott is supposed to be the boxer and it doesn't look good for a technician type fighter to lose on point. I call "shenanigans"
