Anybody with a brain knows he doesnt want the fight, but if it had to happen, he would insist that it must be on DAZN. Well he’s finally come
out with It, which is going to be a complete non starter for Finkel, Haymon etc especially if the Fury PPV does well.

Im actually not even blaming Hearn, as AJ is clearly on board with his decisions, plus he is under massive pressure to deliver now for DAZN especially with GBP/Canelo getting on there with him. It’s just disappointing news.

Well no he clearly says if showtime can guarantee the money which DAZN can without PPV then they can talk.

Surely you can see that if DAZN can guarantee the revenue rather than the promoters hoping the PPV is successful they would go with the guaranteed money.

I said this months ago that the issue with AJ v Wilder is you just don't know how it will do on PPV. There is no benchmark to work with.

If Wilder v Fury is a huge success then the game changes that is a big if.

Cannot see how Boring Tyson Fury in the ring at 4am is going to have the PPV Mugs out in force.

Could be wrong but he could not even fill small venues in the UK or the Manchester Arena for the rematch with Wlad.

Yep. I think it will do about 100k over here and cap out at 300k max in America.

Is this the same DANZ that Canelo has just signed up to a 11 fight deal on??

I can see why you think its a duck if the want to put AJ Wilder on it..

    Sigh...

I have been a big critic of Fury on here, up until he signed to fight Wilder which got my respect. But to be fair he did massive ratings on BT for his return, plus the MEN looked pretty full. It’s a shame Warren didn’t go old school and do a U.K. lead in for the PPV, having said that I think it sell well 4am or not.

300k is a good guess, mine is 200k, it ain't doing more than that.
Trust me noone knows who Wilder is here or Fury.

They didn’t want to entertain a $50m guarantee for a Showtime fight previously so why would Eddie be interested in considering it now? As I said, I understand Eddies position so I’m not even attacking him on it.

It’s a duck because Wilder is backed by Haymon, Showtime and managed by Finkel and as Hearn said “you have to sign for us to get AJ” even though he did low ratings when he was on Showtime and was rumoured to have drawn somewhere between 6-15k on DAN which is shocking.

Let’s not get carried away because of Canelo signing up with DAZN and think that Showtime isn’t still the established boxing powerhouse in the US.

Other than the fact Hearn said AJ v Povetkin did slightly less than AJ vs Parker on showtime

Anymore so than believing it did 6-15 views. Let's not pick and choose when to believe what Hearn say and when not too. You can't have it both ways.

Wow mate, so you think a relatively unknown app in DAZN which is in its infancy would create only “slightly less” ( I know you where paraphrasing Hearn and it’s not your own words) then the ratings on one of America’s biggest networks and the market leader for boxing?

I wasn’t even using Hearn’s words as a reference - the viewing figures for AJ were largely reported by the usual reputable sources.

Both Arum and Hearn reckon Showtime is going to follow in the footsteps of HBO.

Spend over $60 to watch one PPV event which has a padded record champ fighting an a out of shape fighter who has only fought two fighters in the last 3 years who aren't even ranked amongst the top 50 HWs.

Or spend $10 a month to see the likes of AJ, Canelo and Uysk. Over 30 matchroom events a year, 10(?) Golden Boy events and the WBS. Turn that $10 to $15 in getting ESPN plus on top and you get the Top rank fighters such as Lomachenko, Crawford, Dogboe, Gvozdyk, etc.

Yes in the future, the internet based services will no doubt take over - I think most people understand that. For the present though, Showtime and Fox have just signed massive deals with Haymon to start in December.
