I don’t think there is any question who the top 3 are in the sport. Ranking them is pretty much personal preference, but I believe Crawford is clearly #3. What Loma did was very, very impressive. But he did get sat down. I wouldn’t hold that against him too much, but GGG just obliterated his guy. I do understand the level of opponent may have been higher and first fight at new weight class, so I could see him at #1 also. I don’t think GGG did anything to warrant slipping to #2. He took care of business with ease. The situation he found himself was an unenviable one with how Canelo screwed everything up. He found a game opponent on short rest and worked him. If Loma didn’t get knocked down or lose multiple rounds, maybe then he should’ve jumped ahead of Golovkin too. Golovkin Lomachenko Crawford
“A lot more than what he’s done” Lol Yeah he’s only started off things as arguably the best amateur in history while beginning his pro career setting records by winning titles in different weight classes faster than anyone else. Also being one of the most dynamic and entertaining fighter in the sport is just a fraction of what he needs to do! He’s still LIGHT YEARS away from being a current PFP star or great! Hate to break it to you but Lomachenko is well on his way to ATG status and not very far off either. And as far as being a star in the sport.. he’s already there and he will be an even bigger star by the end of this year.
Loma amassed a 396-1 amateur record winning two Olympic gold medals. As a pro, he took considerable risk fighting for the WBO featherweight championship in only his second fight. The judges gave the decision to Salido but in my book Loma was hit with low blows throughout the fight to the point where Salido should have been DQ'd or at a minimum had several points taken. This did not happen. Even so, Loma nearly KO'd Salido in the 12th. Loma went on to win world championships in 3 weight divisions in only 12 fights. Never been done before. Not even close. He has not taken a tune-up fight when stepping up and fighting for the world title. His opponents have a collective record of 352-30. He has beaten two top undefeated fighters along the way. He has fought for a title in every single pro bout he has ever been in. No one else comes remotely close to accomplishing what he has done in only 12 fights. That is what makes him ALREADY an ATG. No one will ever touch what he has accomplished in such a short period of time.
