Maybe not inside 4 rds like Louis, but I'd bet Holmes carves up Baer for a 12th rd TKO in a time machine...

Norton of '78 was knocking on 33 yrs of age, but also in great shape and buffed like a demon at 220 pounds.... Norton had the will to win, but Holmes was just a little better skilled and faster at age 28..... A classic 15 rounder...

Holmes much faster foot speed and better legs despite being the bigger man... Hand speed????? Pretty close Louis delivered the power punch much quicker... Holmes looser and quicker with the jab.. Both quicker in different aspects when it comes to handspeed...

Yeah, I think Louis had faster power punching combos but Larry's jab, one-punch speed and I believe his one-two are faster. This is...questionable. Louis has terribly underrated hand speed... Except on this thread. :huh

:good:yep Much like Arguello.. OR i should say Arguello reminds me of Louis.. Underrated hands speed due to being slow afoot.... THeir styles are so similar IMO.

Louis was fast when he set himself and was trhowing in combination.

Larry had a blinding jab, one two and could do it moving. Larry's speed has more applications.

    ****in' A. Skippy.:good

I think prime Holmes of '78 to '82 takes prime Louis of '38 to '42 in a time machine..... Holmes peaked at around 30 years of age while Louis peaked younger at about 24 yrs of age.... Still, Holmes in his prime would appear to be a monster for prime Louis in my book....

No, no... Allie Arguello was a different matter...... Arguello's speed was below average, but his punches were very accurate.... Arguello got off with shots cause of placing them well and throwing them correctly.....

Louis ,he punched in combination Holmes was more of a stick the jab in his face, and measure him for the right cross guy , he didn't throw too many left hooks, but his right uppercut was a thing of beauty.
    Holmes had quicker feet though.

Louis's punches were more compact and travelled a shorter distance. I wouldn't say that there was a noticeable difference in handspeed. But Louis had the better punching technique, while Holmes sometimes even threw bolo punches though he was quick and clever enough to get away with it. Holmes's jab was faster though.

Louis punched swifter in combinations than holmes did and they were much smoother looking. Holmes, though he had fast hands, looked awkward when he was throwing combos other than 1-2's.

Another reason that i pick joe it that he could puch in more sustained flurries.
