    Marciano might have voted for himself in this thread, and was always candid about his slowness of foot (which he believed was due in part to his high school background as a catcher in baseball, and a center on the gridiron).

    Tyson and Dempsey were extremely fast, both on feet and with hand speed, also both delivered with power. Joe Louis was known for fast hands, he through great short combos but it does not look as good as wide punches do. Speed is not everything, reflexes count more, how guy reacts is one of most overlooked things in analyzing boxers. A fighter can have all the speed in world, if he does not react quick at higher level fights, his speed is useless.
