What's yours... For me they don't come much faster than the one given to Foreman in Zaire...i am not commenting on the fight or outcome,i think Foreman was well beat but the count was a joke...nine seconds from Foreman rolling over to the fight being ended..your average knockdown produces a 2 second delay for the referee to pick up the count..then a count that is slower than "real" time then 2 or 3 seconds where the ref talks to the risen boxer, touches his gloves gives him space etc...usually 14-16 seconds before the fight is back on. George was express check outed....anyone seen one faster ??
Also not commenting on the fight or outcome, I thought Ingo just managed to beat the count in the sixth round of Patterson-Johansson III.
Now that you mentioned it YEA THE ZAIRE COUNT IS PRETTY QUICK, lol, not that it would have made a difference the way George walked back to his corner , he had the look of a fighter with a broken spirit:tired, that was Ali's night.. The refs are supposed to count to 10 in a timely matter, and not take too long like that dummy in Tokyo that gave Douglas a long time to get up, 10 seconds MEANS 10 SECONDS.....:deal
Frank Bruno against Jumbo Cummings. Bruno was Britain's big-hitting, can't-miss prospect at the time and Cummings looked as if he was about to unexpectedly ruin the party; had Bruno totally out on his feet early on (Bruno was saved by the bell) and was still very much in the fight having given Bruno a few more uncomfortable moments when he was put down himself. Got a very fast count from what I can remember - suspect the officials were quite content to stamp out that little fire as fast as they could and spare the feelings of the partisan crowd. James Toney against Charles Williams, too. In fairness, in this case it wouldn't make much difference as Toney was well on top and there wouldn't have been time for another punch to be thrown, but you could argue that Williams deserved to finish the fight on his feet. Cortez's progression from about '7' to '10' seemed very rushed in that one.
