Reminded me of Leonard-Hearns 1. Leonard not looking so sharp and he had to dig deep, then the greatness shone through.

    Very impressed.

Props to Lomachenko. As great as Golovkin is, Lomachenko is the best fighter in the world right now. What he's accomplished can't be overlooked.

Loma only looked beatable at one point though when knocked down he was in complete control. As soon as he knocked out Linares the RBR went quiet with all the Loma haters.

Good win although prior to that I believe that Linares was winning the fight

I had Lomachenko ahead, but there is a case for Linares, I agree.

Heck of a fight. I'm glad Linares gave a good performance.

Golovkin has done so much more than Loma (who has a very weak resume)

Balance shot, like Calzaghe-Hopkins. He wasn't hurt at all, IMO.

But you're right, the threads will come lol

I had him mostly in control, although the first two rounds were close and the knockdown gave Linares a boost.

i agree. Loma might actually have an easier time getting big fights because of the kd though.

That's fair. I like Golovkin. But Loma is just shattering records. The guy is a freak.

GGG is PFP #1 in Ring and ESPN, I think. I take nothing from Golovkin, at all, but he is on the decline and Loma is pretty much in his prime.

Well, that is simply due to age.

    Scorecards through 9 rounds:

    1. Loma up
    2. Draw
    3. Linares up

    Close as you can get
