Naseem Hamed. That one loss derailed him completely and he had only one fight afterward, which was a stinker vs. Calvo.

Leon Spinks. He could barely win a fight after Ali beat him in the rematch.

Meldrick Taylor. Had he beaten Chavez, he would have gone on to possible immortality. Instead, he looked decent against Ramos and then got beaten by Espana. He faded pretty quickly after Chavez.

Loreto Garza. Was receiving quite a bit of hype up until Edwin Rosario got hold of him and virtually reitired him. (Garza did fight on a bit, but he was never the same.)

    After the loss to Nelson?

I watched the match with Phil Holliday several years ago, and Fenech was a shell by that stage. I was pretty shocked to see him lose so quickly to a decent but not outstanding fighter like Holliday.

Great call on Taylor, along with Benn he was my fave fighter when I was growing up. Still is one of 'em.

His hands were insanely quick, and he had a great deal of heart. 'Ol Julio simply ruined him.

Barry McGuigan came down to earth pretty fast and never really seemed to get going again.

    Liking all the picks here.

I reckon Ricky Hatton may fall into this category pretty soon. 3 years ago he was beating up a legend and he has progressively appeared to get worse since.

Yep, he did. I don't blame him for not fighting Nelson, though. ;)

Could have been closer than many think. Sanchez showed that Nelson could be hit with a left hook and that was Barry's punch. I'd imagine Barry would have put everything in to it and got stopped late but it would have been a top fight.

    Kelcie Banks

Hector Camacho Snr lost it overnight (Rosario)

Mugabi coming off the Hagler fight, seemed at the height of his fame going into the disastrous Thomas bout.

McGuigan never really got over the Cruz bout.

Indeed. From the Nelson rematch onward Fenech was dead and buried, for whatever reason. There are plenty of theories, but it's really hard to nail.
