It always amazes me how many lard buckets there are in boxing..especially the heavyweight division. These guys are supposed to be athletes and be taking it serious and their physiques seem to indicate otherwise....why?? Have they no shame? :patsch

The only division that you could see this is in the heavyweight division, but boxers are still the most fit and strongest athletes in the whole world when compare to any sport all around. This has been studied in labs and science and even an ESPN article release the numbers:good

Thats why he is in MMA now:lol: but the numbers are from a variety of testing, from reflex, defensive, coordination, stamina, power, endurance and etc, and the list goes on. And yes boxers are number 1:good

Happens in all sports. Some "athletes" are just lucky the have clothing to hide it.

It doesn´t happen in hockey. If you´re out of shape, you simply cannot play.

Some athletes are fat but are in good athletic shape. There's probably a lot of NFL lineman who have big bellies and moobs. Charles Barkley was no thin man but obviously basketball takes a lot of physical stamina and he was a hell of a player.

Generally fat people aren't in good shape, but there are exceptions.

Ronaldo was in shape ..., at the end he got fat but he's really one natural-unbelievable talent.

You can't be out of shape and last 12 rounds. Fat or skinny, doesn't matter.

I see fit looking 20 yr old guys come into our gym who can't last 3 straight rounds, but we have 50 yr old men who can go for 10 straight and whip their asses.

The stamina you need for boxing is second to none.

Agree with you OP. Shame is only part of it. Why would they increase the risk of getting beat up for the sake of a bit more hard work?
