I think it would be a close fight and Im swaying with Calzaghe.

All these ****ers giving it to Joe C must forget the Hopkins fights.

I realize Hopkins was past his best years but so was Joe. Hopkins went onto after this put boxing lessons on guys like Pavlik and Pascal.

The funny thing is anytime the Americans get a new up and comer they thing he is the best ****ing thing since Ali or Hagler.

Ward is very good I will be the first to admit to his skill.

But come on now people go on about oh how good was he against Kessler and Froch and Dawson.

But those guys he beat couldnt hold a candle to ****ing Calzaghe and if you think they could your kidding yourself.

Now I get that Calzaghe stayed in Europe but he made more money there and could sell out a 30,000 seat Arena in 1 day. Money played a huge part to staying in Europe as you have seen with the Klitchkho's and the other guys as they make more Money.

I get that America is the Mecca of Boxing but the same could be said of Wards non travel out of the State of California.

I would actually feel comfortable putting Money on a Prime Calzaghe to beat Ward.

this is only true because Calzaghe has done nothing to show any skill yet, his opponents werre a string of dummies and the one guy who was good held him to an arguable draw.

So of course America would expect a guy who can at least hit hard as rocks and could genuinely KO people to beat an apparent minnow who had done nothing except defend against 90% bums for the wbo worthless title.

That doesnt mean that Amercia thought Lacy was the REALLY the next McClellan, they just thought he was better than the shite they were being subjected to from wales. Lets be honest, Joe C had looked lacking in most of his defences, and his best opponent, Reid, was hardly a standout champion even when he took a title, who was the yardstick for Joe since that wasd his most even match up till then.
