Jones moved away from his dad and his career skyrockted. Floyd moved to his uncle, we all know how that turned out.

Then you got Mosley staying with his dad, could have evolve better. He's left hook never looked better under Richardson.

Was Nonito's move a good one. or will his fued with his dad end up biting him in the ass down the line?
How would Joe Calzahge be if he found a new trainier? I think his dad was a big factor of him not taking on Dawson and Pavlic. Which he would have won IMO. But another trainer could have change what made him good.

Its always sad when the animosity and seperation sets in, but it always inevitable. Their fathers all really molded them into the fighters they are today, but the trade off is having an unhealthy relationship with your kid and he usually resents you as an adult. I think a lot of it is these fathers are putting their own needs first and want to live through their sons, but Im sure most of them see it as giving their kids a chance at a life they never had. Really though, most of their fathers push them away by pushing them so hard. I hope all of them do reconcile though.

mosley hook was always the end of the night
Oscar is the only guy to really take the punch very well but Oscar is so naturally big no surprise he takes it like a 154

Shawn Porter is going to be in the same boat soon. To improve he's going to need a better trianer....Roach probably, since he's working out at Wildcard already...and I'm sure it will be an obstacle he's got to overcome.

You might be right about that. He doesnt seem to be improving as a pro. Andrade comes to mind too.

The biggest problem as I see it is that it's too easy for the fathers involved to always think they know best...that can hold them back long term and make them hit a wall earlier than they otherwise would've, along with the resentment mentioned before. After awhile, Pop's ego has to be humble enough to allow him to know when to step aside and let their sons call some of their own shots.
