So I started a blog about me going from fat to fit (I hope). I would like to have some videos of me training and sparring which I'm sure The Lounge guys will have a good laugh about when they find out.
Anyway if you fancy following me of just dropping in to comment I'm sure it would be great motivation

    Cheers'

    Fair play bro!

Just keep at it no matter HOW HARD it gets.

You've already done the hardest part (actually trying to get fit and changing your lifestyle etc), now it's 'diet and dedication' time!

Keep updating us through this post and who knows? Maybe by the summer you'll much closer to where you want to be. ;-)

    Good luck!

bus, interesting blog. I'll keep checking back once in a while to see your progress. It's going to be tough going in the beginning, but you already know that.

You're a big guy so keep an eye on the knees and ankles from running and rope jumping. If hitting the streets, that's tough on the knee joints. When I was running regularly, I'd try to run at the local high school track or around the football field in the grass for less impact.

Today, I'm more fond of cycling for aerobic exercise, but then again, I'm in my late 50's and not 31 and my knees have been operated on 4 times between them.

Perhaps I missed it, but I didn't see any plans for dietary changes. I'm sure they are part of you overall plan. Simplest plan for losing weight----"Eat less, move more"

    Diet:
Thanks for pointing that out. I think I will make my next post about how I'm changing my eating habits maybe take a picture of what i eat in a day.
While I'm only a few days in, Ive found the hardest part is in the evening when I'm relaxing in front of the T.V. I really want to snack.
Any diet tips are very welcome

@ machinebus - Think of the little obvious tips like, if you want to eat a pizza and it's say 1000 calories, don't eat it and it's 1000 calories less that you have to work off! ;-)

Little things like that will help you in the long run ;-)

Start your day with a little breakfast. It doesn't have to be anything more than a bowl of oatmeal or some other cereal with honey, a bit of milk and a piece of fruit, but you should eat breakfast. Light snacks during the day of fruit, vegetables like celery, carrot sticks etc. or some nuts between meals. Fruit and vegetables are your friend when on a diet.

It is not good to skip meals since doing so will slow down the metabolism. That is the bodies way of saving fat and you want to burn it. The thing is, light meals of small proportions. Try to not eat after you eat your dinner with the exception of some fruit or maybe a low fat yogurt. Sitting around watching TV and snacking on chips, sodas, cookies and such is a sure way to sabotage any hard work you've done all day exercising.

If you like to drink alcohol, know that there are tons of empty calories there. Some drinks mixed with soda are in the 200+ calorie range, beer is in the 100+ range unless it is light beer, and some fruit drinks with milk or sweet mixes can be more than 350 calories each.

Is there a particular reason you switch-hit?
I was told that switch-hitting makes you off-balance so it's better not to do it.

Good luck in any case!!! :good
