Hi guys my names Macco just a quick post looking to get some feedback Should they be totally cut out of your diet? I'm quite a slender build and dont put on weight easy, to be honest i don't put on weight at all. My question is should i totally cut fatty foods and sugary foods out of my diet? I do eat quite healthy in general anyway, drink alot of herbal and fruit teas daily as well as a generally good diet not just total crap. Does it matter if i have the odd KFC or the odd chocolate bar? Or for boxer looking to compete soon should i totally wipe them out?
If you were to only have 2 fatty meals per week, you'd likely be suffering from some hormonal problems. No offence but it sounds like you're quite confused about macronutrients and the importance of each in the context of a diet tailored to your training requirements. If you mean 2 'cheat meals', then I'd cut down on that in the approach to a fight, but if you're just 'ticking over', then that should be fine providing you're training hard.
Sometimes people ask these opinions online hoping to hear what they want to hear. Not that you're doing this, but it's just an observation. Many people have differing ideas of what "eating healthy" really is. For example, I don't know ANYONE who admits to having an unhealthy diet. Everyone I know professes to eat healthy. But what I SEE them eating is an entirely different story. Long story short, if you want actual educated opinions, and not just vague opinions like "ya ur good" or "no u suck", then keep a food log and post it. Then be ready for some real criticism, constructive or otherwise.
Most of your meals should be 'fatty'. Healthy fats should make up a lot of the calories you're getting from your diet. If you mean a 'cheat meal' then it completely depends on your body type and your goals. Like you said you don't put weight on easy so I wouldn't worry about that, but if you're looking to diet for performance or health reason you should be looking at about a 10% leeway. So say you have 4 meals a day which is 28 meals a week, you could get away with 2/3 'cheat meals'. Hope this helps
