Requiem for a heavyweight, probably the most accurate commentary on the reality of the fight game, at least in it's time. have to check out Body and soul, and somebody uo there likes me never saw either Gladiator with Cuba Gooding was good also.
i dont kno if it counts but when we were kings is one of my fav films of all time let alone boxing films
The American Film Institute recently rated Raging Bull #4 on their list of the 100 greatest movie of all time, above Goodfellas, 2001: A Space Odessey, and On the Waterfront. That's huge.
raging bull (scorsese) ali(michael mann) cinderella mann(ron howard) big fan of these directors and all of them did a hell of a job on those movies
The Setup ..... Robert Ryan .... (1948) Only Body and Soul compares to this one Body and Soul .... John Garfield .... Brilliant movie ... possibly the best of all Requiem For a Heavyweight .... Anthony Quinn Raging Bull .... Robert DeNiro Cinderella Man .... Russell Crowe All the above are superb.
Snatch - does that count as a boxing movie? If not, then probably Killer's Kiss. Early Stanley Kubrick movie that most people have probably forgotten. Of the mainstream boxing movies, probably Diggstown and Rocky III. I personally think the Oscar-type boxing movies have all been completely overrated.
There are some great movies, especially Rocky I, Raging Bull, On the Waterfront and Somebody Up There Likes me. However I'd like to recommend a pretty good Korean movie: CRYING FIST http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0457007/ <----------------- starring Choi Min-sik This content is protected
Streets of Gold, somebody up there likes me, Great White hope, Ali, Fat city, Undisputed, Penitentiary.. Rocky 1.. 3,4 and 6.. Gladiator... Hurricane.. (Fantastic)
