Here's one of my favorites, from Smokin Joe. Go to the 2:20 mark (40 seconds left in the round). It lasts about 20 seconds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nC8ZTXMqrUw&feature=related Another one of my favorites, which I can't find a clip of on youtube, was the first fight between Holyfield and Qawi. Qawi stands in front of Evander, slips 10 straight punches, shrugs at Holyfield, and then hits him with some shots.
Cotto had a nice one with Margarito at the end of 6 or 7 I believe when he was just bobbing and weeving with his hands down.Great stuff
yea its at the last 8seconds of the 5th round(its at the begining of the vid) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_tOgwLV31U
Marquez is not, nor has he ever been, a great defensive fighter. He's a great counter-puncher, but is also quite hittable.
It's a mixture of both. Doesn't change the fact that he's too hittable to be highly regarded defensively outside of his ability to counter. That has more to do with his positioning and offensive arsenal than his defense.
The bit where Sweet Pea dodges by sitting on the ropes, bouncing up, then sitting down again.....unbelievable. And to think of the quality of the punchers that he did it to; Trinidad, DLH, Chavez, Nelson to name just a few. And through all those weights as well. Pea is one of the GOAT. No doubt. Willie Pep also. Very good, though Sweet Pea was so fluid he's the best defensive fighter of all time in my book, and no doubt countless others.
