Hmmm. You know, I fell to the old rookie mistake of thinking of his entire body of work rather than focus on strictly lightweight. Oops. Still, I wonder if we aren't overrating Dejesus. Tight, classy boxer-puncher, but aside from a rather undistinguished reign as a lightweight titlist, he's famous for.........his fights with Duran alone. Real nice win over a muted Duran the first time (still a great win, he earns real stripes there of course), but really, that's about it. He beat Lampkin, who is famous for..........losing to Duran. It's kind of circular logic in that way, which leaves me feeling a little uncomfortable with saying that Duran's opposition was all THAT much worse at 135. I don't think it's as cut and dried as some might imagine.
