Posted this in the General Forum, but remains a classic: Tate utterly dominating Weaver for 14 rounds, on his way to a sure win and potential monster payday as Ali's comeback fight - then, this:

Yep, Weaver-Tate was the first one I thought of.

Ray Mercer pulled a couple of wins out of thin air against Damiani and Morrison.

    Maybe Ali-Lyle.

Moorer over Cooper. Seems like that fight comes up a lot on this forum but it really was a classic comeback. That fight could have easily been stopped.

Never given a lot of publicity at the time but Jimmy Cable's European Light Middleweight Title win against Said Skouma in 1984 is one I always remember.
Fighting away from home, Jimmy was dropped 3 times and was getting pasted but outlasted the Frenchman to score an unbelievable stoppage in the 11th.
Dave McAulay's win over Bobby McDermott on the McGuigan v Pedroza card in 1985 is an another one I'll never forget.
Dave was down 3 times with 2 more disputed knockdowns and was a mile behind going into the 10th when little Bobby completely blew up and got stopped.
Sorry to spoil everybody's fun by posting it first but we really can't have this conversation without mentioning Colin Jones v Kirkland Laing can we ?

    Kaylor/ Christie ( either )
    Picket/ Sollas
    LaMotta/Dauthllie
    Bouttier/Sterling ( Bouittier completely outboxed )
    Jackson/Graham
    Jeffries/Fitzsimmons ( both)

I wouldn't say either lad was clearly winning the Kaylor v Christie fight. Kaylor was arguably shading it but Errol was always fighting back.
