Jones v Laing was the first one l thought of !
Two identical fights, Jones being totally outclassed in both, before dropping Laing in each fight.
Sibson v Minter. Minter pretty dominant for 3 rnds before being brutally KOd by Sibbo.

Might be reaching, as it probably isn’t considered ‘breathtaking’ but Chris Algieri looked like he was about to get blasted out by Ruslan Provodnikov. Dropped twice in the first round and one of his eyes was virtually swollen shut, he managed to outbox Provodnikov in virtually every round afterwards

Yeah. The only difference between the Jones v Laing fights was that, in the first one Colin got Laing going with a right, in the second he nailed him with a left hook. Absolutely uncanny how similar they were.
I can see Sibson v Minter as a shout although it was still the early going and Alan wasn't really putting it on Sibbo. The sheer violence of the finish is eye watering to this day though.

Although a very good fight, how does it qualify for what the OP is asking for?

Laing made a habit of this, as mentioned the two Jones fights, but also his fight with Buck Smith.

Didn't he get a pasting off Fred Hutchings in his next outing after Duran ? Cost him a fortune.

I think the glove fits. Afterall, Benn was brutally floored twice.

Yes, although he had by his own admittance, gone on a year long bender after the Duran fight.

I was there, it did not seem he was that badly hurt. But I am being disingenuous, the fight does deserve a place on the thread.
