Hi Buddy. In full agreement regards Leonard, and would be plenty surprised if most of the forum didnt feel the same, lots of good if not great jewish fighters already mentioned, mainly mainstream, like to go slightly off piste, and shout out to a non champ, but still a very rugged and accomplished fighter, that being Solly Krieger, one of the alphabet MWs in the 30s, that always gave a good account of himself, he beat such luminaries as , Hostak, Battaglia, Rankins, Balsamo, and for good measure Conn twice. He started out as more of boxer, but early in his career he damaged his left elbow, to the extent he could no longer throw a jab, with that he transformed from a boxer to a walk up slugger, and he slugged with the best, Conn is on record saying that Solly was a hand full, tough, dour, and almost impervious to punishment, and no less than Apostoli a remorseless attacker himself paled, when asked about his fights with Krieger, he could be outboxed, but it took a brave MW to engage in a brawl with him, he eventually moved up to LHW but not with much success, so yes, here's to Solly Krieger , not a great fighter in the true sense of the word, but a bloody good fighter.
