DLH and Trinidad in their prime would have to be my favorites.

Not bad choices at all!! Of the past 20 years DLH may be my favorite. Miss those days.

Him and Tito made for a great fight. Oscar was pretty much given Trinidad a boxing lesson for the first 8 rounds but Hoya blew it!!!:good

Back then, it was pretty much the only weight class that was packed with talent.

Nah!! The HW division was pretty stacked as well..its just recently (the past 5 or maybe more years) That everything has gone south!! Id rather watch paint dry then watch Vitali or Wlad!!!:smoke Maybe even 10 years since the HW division was watchable. :dead

I was thinking about Hatton Philly! Even though he couldnt beat Gayweather or Manny he deserves to be there too. Guy is a hard worker a really good fighter and he is fun to watch!
Hattons fight with Kostya Tszyu is a great great fight!!:good

Hatton at 140 - Just great value and made a lot of what he had.

Trinidad at 147 - A young champ and a longtime champ.

narrowing things down to 20 years means you're cutting it pretty thin for great Welterweights does it not?

Hatton, Cotto, Mayorga...these are far from great fighters.I don't think the '00s-'10s have had any great Welterweights. Some lower weight\pfp greats that are still good at the weight and a lot of average to solid titlists.

the 90s was a very good decade for the weight though. No undeniable all-time greats, but a nice amount of excellent\borderline great fighters.

But in the past 20 years there have been some really great welters. The 90's are a perfect example of this. Hatton, Cotto, abd Mayorga are great examples. And if they are titlists are they average!?
