I can watch Conteh all day.
When my son was boxing I had him watch a bunch of Conteh bouts on YouTube. Beautiful textbook boxer

My favorite is Eddie Mustafa Muhammad. Such enormous talent and such a smooth skilled performer. He had ATG power, great defense and a great body attack. Some brilliant old school moves if ever i saw them. The way he slipped punches was spell binding at times.

Obviously the bad is he was often just too damn passive. He could take a punch and had heart as evidenced when he could barely see against Michael Spinks and was dropped heavily by a huge right hand in the middle of round 12 and stuck it out to the end of the 15th. He was also drained from losing so much weight in a short time. He seemed more aggressive at times in his earlier career in what footage we have. A bit more fire in the belly and he could have been anything imo.

Huge respect for Ezzard Charles. At 175 he approaches the level of SRR at 147 imo.

Michael Spinks too, such a great fighter at 175. Big pity Saad declined suddenly and they never met. With Saad on a narrowly different timeline it would have been mouth watering.

All the big 4 from the 80's, Spinks, Saad, Mustafa and Braxton/Qawi. A brilliant lot.

For me, Michael Spinks. Top notch boxing skills, underrated speed, and solid chin. Only problem with Michael that I had was that he did not have the number of fights as a contender that he should of had, and that the Butch Lewis friendship was kind of weird.

Roy Jones, probably because I watched him more than any other lightheavyweight. It's a shame what happened to him starting with the Antonio Tarver rematch.

Archie Moore and Saad Muhammad as far as my fave 175 pound fighters go.

Moore was a one off as a fighter and human being and Matt Saad Muhammad was the bravest, most entertaining fighter imaginable.

    Cheers All.

ahhh, the light heavweights. The ginger stepson of the bigger divisions. My personal fav has to be Saad or the camden buzzsaw , always entertaining to watch. Seriously though, people talk, and quite rightly too, about the 70s heavyweights. But for me an argument could be made the light heavies in the 70s were just as stacked if not a better division in my humble opinion
