What is your favorite fight that was not for a major title or on one of the big networks or PPV or hyped ahead of time. One fight I watched on ESPN FNF a few years back was Vince Phillips vs Feliciano a 10 round upset for Feliciano. Each guy probably threw into the thousands and every round was close and hard fought. Scores were close and the fight was exciting for an over the hill guy and an unknown journeymen I never saw prior. Feliciano then went on to fight another great TV fight a draw with Alfonso Gomez which I thought he won and then took Cintron through hell to beat him.
julio gonzales vs the late jullian leterlough an excellent espn fight not everyone had pleasure to watch
Its great when fights exceed expectations especially when there are none many super fights wind up as disappointments
???? Your definition of schooling?? Kostya himself said Lopez gave him a lesson in being a pro fighter who has to fight twelve rounds but SCHOOLING HIM?? Sure wasn't in boxing. Yes it was a hard fight in fact prolly his hardest victory but Tszyu won Andrey
A while back; McKart/Marquez. Both guys well past there best, but they are both truly experienced veterans, and they were very evenly matched. Came out a draw. one fight later Marquez beat Lorenzo in a title eliminator and went on to fight AA. Recently; Cermeno/Valdez. Damn what a war.
