I think Nazim Richardson is one of the smartest guys in boxing.

The Petronelli brothers did a great job with Haglar.

Benny Georgino turned Danny Lopez into the dominate featherweight and kept him there for about 4 years. Danny did not have much to offer beyond a huge pair of balls and a monsterous right hand.

 

Honourable mentions of Ulli Wegner. Also Kessler trainer who also trained Salvador Sanchez - Jimmy Montoya. Joe Goossen. Enzo Calzaghe.

All the above named are great trainers.

My personal favorite is Ray Arcel. You cannot **** with his fighters:

Benny Leonard, Ezzard Charles, Jimmy Braddock, Larry Holmes, Roberto Duran, Barney Ross, Tony Zale, Billy Soose, Ceferino Garcia, Teddy Yarosz, Jackie Berg, Alfonso Frazier just to name a few of those he worked with.

I also like D'Amato as well.
