Alcazar was with him from the begining and he should had kept him till this day but because people got in Oscar's ear he got rid of him. IMHO big mistake......

For me it's a no brainer...
    Robert Alcazar

Before the interuption of new Trainer's.
Oscar from the first Chavez fight was at the top of his game.
I'd put that Oscar against any Jr. Welterweight fighter.

(I'm watching old De La Hoya tapes...as a Lightweight, Jr. Welter ect
This guy was destroying the comp and blowing them out of the water)

Dudes jab was a "Straight Right hand" as a Lightweight, jr. Welterweight...

Mayweather Sr. has helped to bring out the best in Oscar over the past years.

He turned his back on Alcazar, just like he turned his back on the Management team that signed him from the Amatuers. Who even paid for his Mother's Funeral. That's when I lost alot of respect for De La Hoya. No loyalty.

    When?

DLH with basically any trainer would beat Vargas and Mayorga.

I like Alcazar. Though he did screw up several times from inexperience (as in not knowing what do to when Molina turned their fight into a wrestling match full of rabbit punches). But Oscar seemed to loose a lot of aggression after Alcazar.

I would say Robert Alcaza best fitted De La Hoya, he was his long time trainer.

also Jesus Rivero, he was in the corner for Chavez (when Oscar looked at his best and ended up becoming the first ever to stop Julio Cesar Chavez) against Gonzalez ( The best use of the De La Hoya jab and beating an undefeated contender who was like 41-0 with 30 so knockouts) and against Whitaker (Oscar beats the then current Pound 4 Pound Champion)
